Late that night, when Yun Zhe announced that everyone would learn some techniques for dealing with vampires from Gerald, Debbie, who had been trapped for several days, heard a familiar call.
The call came from Akdina, rekindling Debini's desire to live, which had been utterly despondent.
"Akdina, is that you, Akdina?" Debini leaned close to the window and called out excitedly.
The windows were boarded up, but for a vampire, it was easy to tear them open one by one.
Hearing the sound of wooden planks being torn apart outside the window, Debini's heart began to race, but he quickly realized that his current disheveled appearance was not suitable for appearing in front of Akdina.
His clothes were tattered, his beard unshaven, and his hair a complete mess. The bleeding from one arm had barely stopped. In his room, besides the corpse of the first soldier, there were only the corpses of rats.
Debini had been surviving on rat blood for the past few days. Thinking of this, Debini quickly gathered the rats together, then hesitated, touched his beard, thought for a moment, and began to fix his hair with one hand.
Soon, Debiny will see the girl of his dreams, and at this moment, he must do his best to maintain a good image.
With a click, the last wooden plank and the window were removed almost simultaneously, and a fresh breeze blew into the room.
Akdina stood at the window and waved to Debini.
"Ah, my dear Akdina, I really miss you."
Debini, clutching his arm, walked to the window. He looked excitedly at Akdina, his arms outstretched as if to embrace her, even though he only had one arm left. Although Akdina's eyes seemed somewhat unfamiliar to him, he didn't dwell on it.
Then a sharp pain shot through his chest. A hand had pierced straight into his chest, and that hand belonged to Akdina. Debini looked at Akdina in shock; her almost radiant face was filled with mockery. Then Debini felt a tearing pain in his chest, and before he could react, his vision blurred, and he lost consciousness completely.
Akdina expressionlessly threw Debini's head to the ground, then dragged Debini's body out of the house. She then slammed a piece of broken wood into his back, pinning him to the ground.
After doing all this, as if still not satisfied, Akdina kicked Debini twice more, then stomped on Debini's buttocks until they were crushed.
After she finished, Akdina felt a little better. She looked at the stinking house with disgust, then took a detour and jumped into the yard.
Akdina searched every corner of the room, but was disappointed to find nothing she was looking for.
Akdina thought for a moment and began searching the carriages in the backyard.
Just then, an arrow shot towards her back. Akdina frowned, turned around, and caught the arrow with her arm. Then she saw the figure she hated on the rooftop, firing arrows one after another.
Seven arrows, the full force of Ellie's power, were fired in rapid succession toward Akdina.
Akdina darted under the carriage, narrowly escaping death.
Ellie jumped to the ground, drew her crossbow and short sword, and slowly began to approach the carriage.
Akdina suddenly leaped from the side, slamming Ellie to the ground. The two wrestled for a moment, neither inflicting any real harm on the other. However, the noise of the fight still attracted Yun Zhe's attention from a distance.
Yun Zhe did not alert the guards, but quietly rushed towards the house on his own.
Akdina saw Yun Zhe approaching the house during the fight, and her heart skipped a beat. It was a strange feeling; she wanted to get closer, but reason told her she couldn't.
Akdina didn't hesitate. She dodged a crossbow bolt and attacked again. After a brief struggle, Akdina snatched Ellie's crossbow bolt and escaped over the wall. Ellie, enraged, stood on the wall, took down her bow and fired wildly, then saw a figure suddenly rush towards her.
Ellie couldn't see the figure clearly, and out of caution, she didn't rush forward. She walked out of the yard, looked at the stable with its firelight, hesitated for a moment, and didn't go over. Instead, she sat on the wall, thinking about the battle with the vampire she had just fought.
It's obvious that she's become much more aggressive compared to the vampire who just ran away a few days ago. And the way she acts is quite different from the somewhat submissive vampire she used to be.
"She's changed...why?" Ellie wondered as she regained her strength.
In the woods, Yun Zhe caught up with Akdina. Contrary to his expectations, Akdina didn't hide her tracks but ran ahead at a distance, as if worried that Yun Zhe wouldn't be able to catch her. However, the more Yun Zhe sped up, the faster she sped up too, clearly not wanting him to catch up as well.
Yun Zhe stopped in his tracks. Akdina's figure flashed and disappeared into the woods. But not long after, the figure reappeared where she had vanished.
Although they were quite far apart, Yun Zhe could still see those red eyes.
Yun Zhe originally intended to take her back, but her aloof behavior earlier piqued his interest. Especially since the girl had actually returned. This only fueled Yun Zhe's curiosity.
The two stood in the woods, but neither spoke.
"You killed Debenny?" Yun Zhe broke the silence first.
The figure in the distance nodded.
Yun Zhe was somewhat surprised. Then a possibility occurred to him: the girl had regained consciousness and come for revenge, but…
A sound came from the woods in the distance. Yun Zhe turned around and suddenly realized something was wrong, but when he looked back again, the shadow had already disappeared.
The sound from afar grew closer, followed by an arrow flying straight at them.
Yun Zhe dodged, but a smile appeared on his lips.
Ellie stopped in her tracks, embarrassed. She had already recognized the person; it was undoubtedly Yun Zhe.
"Stop right there!" Yun Zhe shouted as he saw Ellie turn to run away.
Ellie paused for a moment, but still lifted her leg to leave.
"I need your help. A more powerful enemy has appeared. We'll talk about that elf vampire later," Yun Zhe shouted as he caught up with Ellie.
Ellie nodded, but her face still flushed slightly with embarrassment.
Yun Zhe patted Ellie's head. "Come back with me. We have a lot to prepare."
Deep in the woods, a pair of red eyes watched a man and a woman disappear from sight.
