One, two, one, the real sword appears

Debenny's body was discovered by the villagers at dawn, his death so gruesome it was astonishing. The villagers were abuzz with discussion, wondering what kind of powerful being could have caused a vampire to die like that.

Ellie and Yunzhe knew what had happened. After listening to Ellie's description, Yunzhe could almost imagine the suffocating anger she felt.

But what Yun Zhe was more interested in was that after Akdina killed Debini, she did not leave, but went inside to search for something.

Yun Zhe thought for a moment, could it be that she was looking for that sword?

But both swords are with Yun Zhe right now, so that girl probably doesn't know about it yet.

So what was the purpose of finding that sword? Yun Zhe had a few ideas in mind, but he wasn't quite sure about any of them.

But these are all minor details now. Yun Zhe's main objective at this moment is to deal with any new enemies that may appear.

The guy who can release the gray mist is near the village, and judging from his behavior, he's after Yun Zhe.

But what is he waiting for?

Sunlight burst forth, and Debini's body quickly burst into flames. The onlookers, drawn by curiosity, dispersed. Just then, a sharp-eyed villager cried out in alarm; a figure had just flashed past deep within the woods.

These remarks only drew laughter from the crowd.

But by noon, everyone fell silent. More and more people were noticing the figure in the woods.

The vampires are back!

Panic quickly spread among the villagers. The soldiers, however, remained relatively calm. "If the vampires don't return, what are we supposed to do training with the hunters for?" they thought.

Yun Zhe stared at the two greatswords before him, eager to know what it was about them that made the vampires return, and why they didn't even bother to change their tactics.

"Wait a minute," Yun Zhe thought, "to come back again without even changing the tricks, that's a problem."

"Gao, come here," Yun Zhe called downstairs.

"My lord, what are your orders?"

"Plant this sword at the edge of the woods, the one where you've spotted the most figures."

Gao hesitated for a moment, then nodded.

"Take a few more men with you, and call Jerok too." Yun Zhe wrapped the sword in cloth and handed it to Gao. "Be careful not to touch the hilt, and come back as soon as you've sheathed the sword. Don't worry about anything else, got it?"

Gao relaxed and nodded. He then ran downstairs with his sword in his arms.

After Gao had gone far away, Yun Zhe, carrying another sword, also came out of the stable. This time, he called Lorraine along and planted the other sword at the edge of another grove of trees.

"My lord, what are you doing?" Lorraine asked curiously when he saw Yun Zhe plant two swords like boundary markers between two groves of trees.

Yun Zhe replied with a wry smile, "Tell me, if both of these swords disappear tomorrow, will the vampires be gone?"

Lorraine nodded, then smiled wryly and said, "It would be better if it were gone."

"See? At least they've shown their sincerity first. Tell the soldiers to be on high alert, and you should also inform the villagers to be careful tonight."

Lorraine nodded and walked towards the village.

Since the two swords were planted, the elusive figure had indeed disappeared, which put everyone at ease. However, the fact that the two swords hadn't been removed cast a slight shadow over this relief.

When night fell as expected, the two soldiers ran happily to the stable and reported good news to Yun Zhe: the swords were gone, both swords were gone.

A joyful atmosphere instantly filled the stable. The soldiers all knew the vampires had come for the sword. Now that the sword was gone, there was no reason for them to linger, and it seemed their peaceful days could continue.

"Strengthen security, strengthen security. You go back and continue to guard the location of those two swords. If you're lucky, one of them will be returned. It would be best if neither of them is returned..." Yun Zhe realized he had spoken his true thoughts and hurriedly stopped talking.

Meanwhile, in Hamelin's house, unnoticed by anyone, a figure was groping its way towards the stables at the back. If Yun Zhe and the others saw that figure, they would surely exclaim in surprise, "Hamelin!"

Yes, after several days of silence, Hamelin returned to her hometown today. The first figure the villagers spotted this morning was actually hers. Debini's death only caused her a slight sadness. Although she had considered saving Debini, it was clearly too late.

"It's late, so be it. It's not like it's the first time I've been all alone," Hamelin thought to himself, as he quietly sneaked into his home under the cover of night.

She was taking something with her: the real sword, the real sword of the Mad King. She hid it in the bricks under the carriage; she had returned this time to take this sword and fly away.

You asked Akdina? Her daughter has grown up and is now a mature vampire; it's time for her to go out and make her own way in the world.

"And the best thing tonight is that that idiot Yun Zhe actually stuck the sword into the edge of the woods, creating the perfect opportunity for her. Soon Danny and the others will find out that both swords are fake. Let the cowardly Yun Zhe fight them to the death. I, Hamelin, am not going to play along."

With this in mind, Hamelin's movements became lighter and more agile.

She went to the stable and was surprised to find that the two horses were still tied up next to the carriage, perfectly intact.

Hamelin smiled with satisfaction. She looked around and, seeing that no one was nearby, confidently stepped into the carriage, gently closed the door, and then opened a trapdoor on the carriage floor. Underneath the trapdoor was a patch of loose bricks.
