A lively CDC night
"I don't want to have my blood drawn. Don't you think I'm getting my blood drawn a little too often?" Lina complained, holding out her hand. Jenner led them down, and just to be on the safe side, Jenner asked that everyone's blood be collected.
“It sounds like you have a story to tell,” Jenner said while she was busy.
“He was bitten,” Lina said, pointing at Moore, “so he could receive a blood transfusion.”
Jenner glanced at Moore's hand. "A wise move."
"So this actually works?" Rick asked Jenner, pressing his arm. "What about elsewhere?"
“Cutting off the bitten part before the virus invades the brain is indeed useful, but if it bites the body, you know what happens.” After Jenna finished collecting Lina’s blood, it was Andrea’s turn next.
“Is this really necessary? We’ll get a fever if we get infected,” Andrea complained.
“I’ve already broken the rules to let you in, at least let me follow some rules,” Jenner said as she continued taking samples.
“Hey, Doctor, we’re starving! Do you have any bread rolls or candy? We should at least get some of that, right?” Lina tilted her head and looked at Jenner.
“We haven’t eaten for days,” Jacques said.
“Well…” Jenner paused for a moment.
Soon everyone enjoyed their most relaxing night, which began with a sumptuous dinner.
Dell poured red wine for everyone, even Carl.
Lina held the glass with a frown. She didn't like red wine, or rather, she didn't like any kind of alcohol. Why would anyone like something so bitter and spicy that only made them feel uncomfortable?
Bitter melon can clear heat, and chili peppers bring a rich taste experience, but alcohol? Apart from medical alcohol, she does not accept any alcohol having close contact with her.
“Ugh—” Carl stuck out his tongue in disgust. Lori gave Carl a satisfied kiss, poured the wine from his glass into her own, and said, “This is my son.”
"Why don't you have some beverage?"
“I wasn’t talking about you, Glenn,” Daryl said with a wicked grin, watching Glenn with amusement. “Keep drinking, young man. I want to see just how red your face can get.”
"What?" Glenn was already a little drunk, and he looked at everyone with a silly smile.
Lina glanced at everyone around her, then quietly picked up her drink and poured it into her glass.
Red wine mixed with Sprite, that's a good idea.
Daryl glanced at Lina, then discreetly started drinking from his own bottle, like a child.
Rick tapped his glass, and everyone toasted Dr. Jenner.
But the relaxed atmosphere didn't last long.
Lena was not surprised by Sean's disappointment, after all, alcohol always stimulates people's emotions.
After hearing Dr. Jenner's explanation of what happened at the base, everyone lost their mood for enjoyment. Jenner led Lina and the others to the rest area. Upon hearing that there was hot water for a bath, Lina was the first to throw down her backpack and cheer as she rushed into the room.
Of course, everyone is the same.
Lina took a very long bath, after all, this was probably the last time she could enjoy a bath like this.
Oh my god, the thought of the harsh bathing conditions in the outside world, and the possibility that she might never have the chance to bathe again, made her so miserable that she wished she could live and die with this base.
Of course, I'm just kidding.
Drying her wet hair, Lina wandered into the recreation room, intending to grab a book. But as she reached the door, she saw it was closed and remembered the fierce battle that was taking place inside.
“You’d better not go in.” Daryl walked by carrying two bottles of wine. He glanced at Lina uncomfortably, his gaze lingering on her lips before he immediately looked away.
“Hey, Daryl,” Lina looked at him and suddenly remembered something, “Are you free?”
"What?" Daryl looked at Lina in surprise.
"Are you free?" Lina looked at him, puzzled. Was he drunk?
“…Yes.” Daryl’s Adam’s apple bobbed. Lina had no idea how much internal struggle he went through before he uttered that word.
“That’s great.” Lina draped the towel over her shoulder and pulled Daryl’s wrist as they walked forward.
"Uh, wait for me, I need to go find Mor," Daryl suddenly snapped out of his daze, shaking the bottle in his hand to hide his panic.
"It's on the way," Lina said.
Daryl stared absently at her wrist; her hand was small and white. Her slender, pale hand rested on his tanned wrist, making her hand appear even whiter.
"We're here." Lina let go of her hand.
Daryl looked a little lost, but he quickly glanced at Lina and then knocked on the door. "Mor?"
“Oh Yeah Baby—” came moaning and panting from inside.
Daryl paused, glanced uncomfortably at Lina beside him, and kicked the door angrily. "Go to hell!" Did he send him away just to mess around with women?
Lina paused, "Did I hear that right? Inside—"
Daryl grabbed Lina and started walking forward.
"Who is it?" Lina thought back. Jacques couldn't be it. Andrea? Amy?
Lina's pupils dilated.
“It must be one or both of those sisters, who knows?” Daryl said, somewhat embarrassed and annoyed.
“Hehehe, you’ve gone past,” Lina said, watching Daryl pull her toward her room. “Let’s go to the warehouse.”
"Warehouse?" Daryl asked, puzzled, but changed direction anyway.
Pushing open the warehouse door, Lina found it clean and quiet, not dusty or anything like that. She looked around and nodded in satisfaction. "Very good, it's safe here."
Daryl suddenly felt a little flustered. He looked at the bottle in his hand, picked it up, and took a big gulp.
Lina turned to Daryl and said, "Alright, let's begin."
Daryl choked, his eyes widening as he looked at Lina with a puzzled expression.
Lina laughed. "You're like a bewildered hamster right now, the kind that drops its sunflower seeds in fright."
She picked up a backpack from the shelf and tossed it to Daryl, saying, "Pack your things, hurry up."
Daryl suddenly stopped choking. He looked at the backpack in his hand in disbelief, then at Lina.
"That's it?" he asked incredulously. "We came here just to steal?"
“What do you mean by stealing? Sharing, this is sharing,” Lina retorted, picking up another backpack as if realizing something, then turning to Daryl. “What else?”
Lina narrowed her eyes, as if she had figured something out. She put down her backpack and walked step by step toward Daryl.
Daryl took an awkward step back, and Lina stopped in front of him, staring intently into Daryl's eyes.
Her light-colored eyes looked like glass marbles, the kind she loved collecting when she was little—a hazy blue-green color, filling a whole jar, exactly the same color as his eyes.
Daryl felt a little uncomfortable and tried to look away, but Lina pushed him in the chest, and Daryl took two steps back and bumped against the wall.
That's some damn strength.
Lena leaned against the wall with one hand and looked up at Daryl. "I know what you're thinking~" she said with a mischievous grin, like a cunning fox.
Lena stood on tiptoe, staring closely into Daryl's eyes, their breaths mingling intimately. "You're thinking about this, aren't you?"
Lina pressed her index finger against Daryl's lips, gently caressing them.
Daryl's Adam's apple bobbed, and he stared intently at Lina without saying a word.
Lina chuckled softly, grabbed Daryl's collar, and made him bend over.
We're closer now.
Daryl looked at Lena's lips, which he had wanted to say earlier at the entrance to the recreation room. They were like cherries. He didn't drink cocktails, those pretty things, they were useless. But looking at Lena, Daryl's gaze deepened. She was like... Tequila Sunrise.
Seeing Daryl's expression, Lina suddenly let go of him, grinning mischievously, "Dream on~" She turned around to continue packing her things.
Daryl grabbed her hand and pulled her back into his arms. He cupped Lina's face in his hands and kissed her.
Lena stared wide-eyed at Daryl with some confusion, but she quickly realized that she was kissing him.
"Hmm—"
If Lina had to come up with a word to describe Daryl at this moment, she would choose "secretly passionate".
She had never been kissed, which was embarrassing, but not in either of her lives.
She wasn't a lustful woman driven by lust, nor was she enthusiastic about that kind of thing. Whether she was naive or feudal, she believed that love was essential.
Lina let out a muffled groan of pain. Daryl gently bit Lina's lower lip; she was lost in thought, which frustrated Daryl.
Lina felt her lips being sucked. Daryl took Lina's hand and wrapped it around his neck. His tongue skillfully pried open Lina's teeth, guiding the bewildered Lina.
"Ugh..." Lina's head began to spin. She felt her body getting hot, and her feet, which she was standing on, felt unsteady and weak. She could barely stand and could only hang on Daryl, looking at him with dazed eyes.
The kissing lasted a long time, and the sound of wet kisses echoed throughout the warehouse.
Daryl gently wiped away the tears from the corner of Lina's eyes with his thumb. He watched her stare at him blankly, her mouth slightly open, her lips bright red, her teeth white, and her tongue trembling slightly with her breath. Daryl reached out and covered her eyes.
Daryl felt a pang of regret; he had acted too impulsively. Looking at her bewildered eyes, Daryl felt even more strongly that way.
Lina blinked, her soft eyelashes sliding across Daryl's palm. Daryl gritted his teeth; this was terrible.
Lena pulled her hand away, trying to steady herself, but she seemed to slip and fall. Daryl tried to pull Lena back, but ended up sitting on the ground with her.
Lina sat on Daryl's lap with her legs apart, seemingly still in a daze.
Daryl felt a little awkward and tried to get up, but as soon as he moved, Lina grabbed him and, as if she had made up her mind, she grabbed Daryl's face and kissed his lips.
It really was biting.
Daryl hissed; she must have bitten his lip until it bled.
Daryl looked down at Lina, who nervously closed her eyes, her eyelashes trembling uneasily, her lips awkwardly pressed against his, and her tongue clumsily sticking out. Daryl's Adam's apple bobbed. "No, not like this."
Daryl quickly switched from defense to offense. He gently stroked the back of Lina's head, opened his mouth, and sucked on Lina's lips, lightly licking, sucking, gently biting, and entwining them...
His hand gently stroked Lina's fluffy hair, then moved to her neck, lightly pinching the back of her neck and caressing it intimately. Lina trembled slightly and let out a soft, suggestive breath.
Her hands rested limply on Daryl's chest, as if she wanted to push him away, or perhaps she wanted to get closer to him.
Finally, she collapsed weakly into Daryl's arms, trembling and panting.
Daryl was not feeling well, but he didn't want to do anything more. He held Lina in his arms and gently kissed the top of her head.
“This is a bit strange,” Lina said, trying to calm her breathing. Her voice was also strange, and her face was burning hot, definitely flushed. Luckily, she was buried in Daryl’s arms and he couldn’t see her.
"Don't you like it?" Daryl gently kissed the top of Lina's head.
“No,” Lina clutched Daryl’s clothes, looked up at him, and gently kissed his Adam’s apple. “Not bad.”
Daryl's Adam's apple bobbed up and down like a small walnut. Lena felt herself being held tightly in his arms again. She struggled to lift her head, and Daryl practically spat out the words, "Don't..."
Lina blinked and nestled obediently in Daryl's arms. Daryl breathed a sigh of relief and rested his chin on Lina's head.
"What are we doing? Having an affair?" Lina asked with great interest.
“No,” Daryl said, amused and exasperated, “what do you think?”
“Emmmm, well then, you’re my deer now,” Lina said smugly.
Daryl scoffed.
"You seem quite disdainful?" Lina struggled and looked up at Daryl in dissatisfaction.
Daryl's expression was relaxed, and a slight smile played on his lips. "No, I am the haunter."
“I don’t think so,” Lina muttered softly, then shifted in Daryl’s arms, finding a more comfortable way to snuggle up, and quietly nestled in his embrace.
His heart was beating so fast.
