Chapter 116

Chapter 116

Rick felt uneasy after packing his things in the RV, but he could only take it one step at a time.

"Where's Lina?" Rick looked at the people present. Apart from a few who were still outside, almost everyone else was here, but Lina was the only one missing. Given how much he cared about Maggie, this was unusual.

"Uh, Maggie's stomach hurts a lot," Michonne said worriedly, there was no time to waste.

“Alright,” Rick pinched the bridge of his nose. “Andrea, I’m leaving this to you.” Rick looked at her seriously. Maggie would probably need to recuperate at Hilltop for a while, and they also had to be careful of the Saviors outside. Fortunately, Andrea had been running around in Alexandria. She knew everyone and everything, so it was the most reassuring thing to entrust her with the task.

"Don't worry, you too, just be careful." Andrea's expression was serious; she had a feeling a storm was brewing.

“I left Moore behind and tried to discuss things with him; his intuition is sometimes very sharp,” Rick said.

“…If I still had a choice,” Andrea only lost her composure when it came to the matter of Mor.

“Sometimes, the kids are all grown up, you know,” Rick said with a helpless smile.

“…If Judith grows up and brings a little Moore home,” Andrea raised an eyebrow and crossed her arms, looking at Rick with a blunt expression.

Rick's face contorted instantly. "Never mind what I said," he quickly glanced at Moore, "there's another big problem."

“Lina,” Andrea continued, “I’ll keep an eye out for the area and ask Amy and the others if anyone knows where she is.”

“Very good,” Rick nodded, “but we can’t let them go out again, not even if Daryl comes back. I’ll handle it.”

“Okay.” Andrea nodded. “Leave it to me.”

Rick picked up his bag and walked toward the RV. At the door, he met Eugene, who had volunteered. Since Eugene was shot last time, everyone thought he would be scared and would never leave Alexandria again. Unexpectedly, he became even braver and more determined.

Therefore, after hearing Eugene's firm words, Rick did not refuse him. They did need manpower and calm minds, and Eugene was very smart.

Gabriel was mainly in charge of the guard duty. He efficiently explained the patrol arrangements to Rick. His decisive and efficient style of doing things surprised Rick, but also made it seem perfectly reasonable.

“…No matter what happens, I will protect Judith,” Gabriel said firmly. “But, are you sure you want me to be in charge of guarding Alexandria?” Gabriel was still somewhat hesitant and uneasy; this was the first time he had received such a serious and important mission.

Rick sensed the unease in his heart. He had underestimated himself. Rick shook his head with a helpless smile, lowered his head and smiled, then looked up at Gabriel again. "Don't worry," he said, looking at Gabriel with trust, before slowly walking towards the RV.

“Rick, if the Saviors come, should we try to negotiate with them first?” Spencer asked from afar.

Rick paused, looking at Spencer with a meaningful gaze. "Negotiation? Of course. Tell him to wait for us to come back, and I'll have a good talk with them." Rick closed the RV door, and the RV headed towards the hilltop village.

Meanwhile, Lina, who had already run away, had circled into the woods. She had seen familiar fallen trees along the way, which meant that the Salvation Army group was nearby.

Lena tried to be as careful as possible, but more importantly, she needed to hurry. She had to get to that town first, which wasn't far from Alexander and was the town from which Glenn, Nicholas, and Moore had escaped.

In the story, Nicholas bleeds profusely, feeding the walkers. Glenn uses the corpse to escape to the bottom of a dumpster, blocking the openings on all sides with walker corpses to keep quiet until the walkers disperse.

But the presence of Moore completely rewrote the events of that time. There were quite a few abandoned vehicles in the town, and Moore was an expert in car repair (Darryl said that he was particularly skilled because he had stolen so many cars). In short, he quickly turned on the car stereo and led the walker into a warehouse.

Lina didn't know exactly how many zombies there were, but Moore's actions saved the lives of the three of them.

Now, she needs those zombies, no, she needs more and more, the more the better.

After circling around to town, Lina began searching for the warehouse that Moore had mentioned. It wasn't easy to find, and soon after, Lina heard a noise, so she had to quickly hide.

"...They should be here; they saw her walk in alone."

"Spread out and search, it should be nearby." The voice sounded familiar. Lina paused for a moment, cautiously peeked out, and then quickly withdrew her head as if she had seen a ghost.

No, she doesn't want this warehouse full of walkers!!!

Lina panicked and jumped over the wall, running towards the edge of town. However, after turning two corners, she heard very clear footsteps behind her. With nowhere to hide, Lina had no choice but to jump over the wall again. As soon as she landed, she saw the person she didn't want to see.

"What a small world! I never thought I'd see you again." The person who felt familiar to Lina was also an old acquaintance of theirs, Sean.

"So you're Negan now too?" Lina asked warily.

“Hmph,” Sean snorted, “I heard they captured a guy who knows how to use a crossbow, and it seemed familiar. I didn’t expect it to be you guys.”

Sean's men arrived, five burly men completely blocking the alley. Lina glared at Sean resentfully, wondering what he was doing causing trouble at this hour.

“Let’s go,” Sean said, pointing his gun at Lina. The five burly men parted to make way for her. Lina stared at Sean for a long time, biting her lip in resentment. If she gave up like this, then…

No, she has to leave.

Lena glared fiercely at Sean, who smirked as his five men drew their guns.

“If you dare look at me with those eyes again, I guarantee I’ll turn you into a sieve,” Sean sneered.

"We're old acquaintances, after all. Shall we have a chat?" Lina lowered her hand from the knife handle, suppressed her anger, and looked at Sean with a provocative smile.

“Do you think I’m stupid?” Sean rolled his eyes. “But you’re right, we’ll have a chance to catch up,” he said, looking at Lina with ill intent.

"...I really wanted to talk to you about something you'd be interested in, but it looks like you probably won't have the chance to find out." Lina leaned back against the wall, looking at Sean with a mocking expression.

Sean immediately flew into a rage. He put his gun back in its holster, took two steps forward, and punched Lina twice in the stomach.

Lena, who wanted to fight back, was stunned by the bullet that hit her feet. She could only cover her head in anger and curl up into a ball. Sean sneered, picked up Lena, grabbed her by the collar, and slammed her head against the wall again and again.

“…I dream about beating you up like this every day,” Sean said viciously. “And that Dixon, it seems one hand won’t teach him a lesson. Once I catch him, I’ll cut off his other hand.”

Lina, seeing stars after being hit, thought, "Coward."

"F%UCK U!" Sean slammed his knee into Lina's stomach, and Lina vomited immediately. Sean released her grip in disgust, and Lina slumped to the ground, bursting into laughter. "You're as much of a bastard as ever. No, no, no, it's this world that has completely unleashed your shackles."

Sean scratched his hair, then squatted down. "I really hate the way you are, like you're so invincible, so fearless. No, you're the coward."

"...You should know who you're trying to ambush, right?" Lina tilted her head and looked at Sean. "There's a pregnant woman in the car too."

Sean's pupils contracted, and he quickly realized that Lowry should have given birth long ago, and the person in the car couldn't be her.

Or... Sean gritted his teeth angrily.

“Three seconds. I really want to tell you something interesting. 1, 2,…” Lena looked at Sean calmly. Since he wasn’t falling for her tricks this time, there was nothing she could do. When they got to Negan, they could all just die together.

“Let’s go to the alley entrance, I’ll talk to her.” Sean picked up Lina, pressed her against the wall, and whispered in her ear, “Let’s talk.”

Sean's words were more effective than Lina had hoped; the five people actually left without saying a word.

"F%UCK U! Where the hell are you touching?! You pervert, you scoundrel, go to hell!" Lina cursed as her waist was pinched, and then kicked Sean twice.

That bastard! She just beat me so badly my head is still bleeding!

Sean, unperturbed by being kicked away, coldly stared at Lina and said in a low voice, "Speak." Then he added loudly, "Bitch! Looks like you still haven't learned your lesson?"

He threw a punch at Lina, and Lina started punching and kicking him back, both of them shouting insults at each other.

“It’s a girl,” Sean got the information he wanted amidst a barrage of vile insults.

"She looks a lot like Lowry, thankfully not like you."

"She is an angel."

"..."

Finally, the two stopped, panting. "Where is she?" Sean asked hoarsely.

"...died, died in childbirth," Lina said.

Sean stared at Lina in despair, his ears ringing violently, completely unaware of what was happening. He unconsciously held his breath, staring blankly at Lina. Soon, he let out a long breath, his anger igniting. "You lied to me," he said. If there was any acting involved before, Sean was now going all out.

Lina was beaten so badly that she was powerless to fight back and huddled in the corner in a sorry state.

"Hey, Sean, you're going to kill her, aren't you? Negan said she wanted her alive." The person at the alley entrance couldn't help but come over to persuade him after hearing the commotion inside.

"Isn't he still alive?" Sean coldly turned to look at the newcomer. "Don't bother me. I know what to do."

"Fine," the man said, and left the alley in a huff.

"Ahem... Don't you want to know where Lowry's child is?" Lina curled her lips into a smile. He still cared, so there was room for discussion. Lina provocatively looked up at Sean.

“…No, you don’t need to,” Sean crouched down and looked at Lina. “She’s in there, and I’ll find her soon.”

“No, you wouldn’t,” Lina laughed. “Do you think we’d all be out there, how could we leave her there alone?”

"What do you mean?" Sean bit his lower lip anxiously. "Hide her? I'll find her, I'll interrogate them one by one..."

“No, no, no,” Lina said, looking at Sean with feigned mystery and smugness. “The design of my house, the doors, windows, and walls are all at the level of a bank vault, no lower than that, and only I know the password. Well, not exactly, Daryl knows it too, but do you think you can get him to tell you, or do you think you can get me to tell you, hahahaha!”

Seeing Sean's face turn pale, Lina finally felt relieved. "If you don't let me leave now, I'll never tell you, even if it kills me. Don't worry, I love that child, but if none of us can survive, I'd rather she hate me than hand her over to you." Lina spoke without a hint of guilt, relying entirely on her acting skills.

"You're crazy!" Sean glared angrily at Lina. She was capable of doing it; this mentally unstable woman might actually do it.

She hated him so much that Sean kept pulling at his hair in frustration.

After a long while, he raised his head with a fierce look in his eyes, stared at Lina, grabbed Lina's hair, and Lina cried out in pain, "I will definitely kill you, I definitely will!" Sean said angrily.
