Chapter Sixty-Five: Su Tang's Guesses

"That brat, running so fast, he must be feeling guilty!" Su Guodong said angrily. "Don't think that this can make up for what happened before, dream on!"

Lin Xia rolled her eyes at him. "Hindsight is 20/20. Why didn't you arrest him when he wasn't running away? What are you babbling about now?"

Su Guodong immediately deflated and whispered, "Well, I can't beat them..."

The two were bickering when Su Jianyuan and the others came up behind Su Tang.

"Girl, what's going on? Why is he suddenly being so nice? Has he turned over a new leaf?" Su Jianyuan asked, puzzled.

Orcs capable of stalking wouldn't lie to help them.

Could it be that this kid has ulterior motives?

Su Jianyuan was completely baffled, while Su Shiwei, standing to the side, pondered deeply and whispered:

"I think he probably just wanted to keep Tangtang here, that's why he did it."

Seeing that Su Jianyuan still looked confused, Su Tang explained:

"What you mean, brother, is that if I go to the forest, Lang Kui will no longer have a chance to bother me."

She hadn't overlooked this reason.

Even so, she still felt that something was wrong, but she couldn't quite put her finger on it.

"Father, what do you think?" Su Tang turned to ask Su Guodong.

Su Guodong is a university professor and has seen countless people; he is usually very accurate in judging character.

Hearing his daughter's question, Su Guodong shook his head, "I can't understand this kid either. Anyway, he's not a simple-minded guy. It's best to avoid contact with him in the future."

It seems like the Su family and the Lang Kui family have a grudge against each other; their conflicts have been ongoing ever since they transmigrated here.

Su Tang nodded; she thought so too.

Since the gray wolf leader wasn't driving them away, they decided not to move.

After all, the house has already started construction. Moving it to another location would be dangerous, not to mention starting all over again.

Su Tang was also reluctant to leave her restroom.

But there is an even more important problem right now.

"Father, Mother, don't you think the Gray Wolf leader's attitude towards Wolf Kui is a bit strange?" Su Tang asked, voicing her doubts.

After Su Tang reminded her, Lin Xia also remembered, "I felt that the leader of the Grey Wolves seemed to be very considerate of what Lang Kui said today."

Su Guodong nodded repeatedly, "Yes, the Gray Wolf leader wasn't like this last time we came. What did this kid do to suddenly be valued so much by the Gray Wolf leader?"

The group of people all looked puzzled.

Aside from returning their prey, they had almost no contact with the orcs of the Gray Wolf tribe and had no idea what had happened to the Gray Wolf tribe recently.

Although Su Tang meets with Lang Nini every day, Lang Nini is always rushing back to take care of her cubs. She only has one partner and is very busy on weekdays, so the two don't have much time to chat.

She then realized that even in the ancient continent, the lack of information flow was unacceptable.

"How about we ask a gray wolf orc?" Su Guodong suggested.

No sooner had he finished speaking than Lin Xia poured cold water on his enthusiasm, saying, "Given our relationship with the Gray Wolf Tribe, which orc do you think would be willing to reveal these things to you?"

Su Guodong awkwardly touched his nose, "It seems so..."

Their relationship with the Gray Wolf tribe is currently delicate; they're lucky if the tribe doesn't kick them out.

Just then, Su Jianyuan suddenly clapped his hands, "I've thought of a good way to find out information about the Gray Wolf Tribe!"

Everyone looked at Su Jianyuan, their eyes filled with suspicion.

What brilliant ideas could this kid possibly come up with?

Su Tang still asked, "What method?"

Su Jianyuan didn't say anything, but smiled mischievously and looked down at Xiao Fu, who was barely noticeable in the corner.

...

"You want me to go and find out information from the cubs of the gray wolf tribe? No way, I won't go, absolutely not!"

Upon hearing Su Jianyuan's suggestion, Xiao Fu shook her head and hid behind Lin Xia.

He was beaten up recently, and he even hit Wolf Green. Those cubs must still be holding a grudge against him!

If he goes there now, wouldn't that be asking for a beating?

Xiao Fu's face was filled with resistance.

For the first time, Lin Xia felt that there was still hope for her second son's brain. "This method seems to work. Adults can lie, but young children don't have that many tricks up their sleeves. It would be best if Xiao Fu went to gather information."

Upon hearing this, Xiao Fu immediately looked miserable.

"Mother, I don't want to go..."

Despite his previous temper towards Su Tang, he was aware of the difference between his family and other orcs, and he felt somewhat inferior. Even in his previous tribe, he was not a member of the group.

Moreover, his family's reputation in the Gray Wolf tribe was already ruined. He never played with cubs his own age, and the last time he got beaten up was just because he happened to run into Wolf Green and the others.

Su Tang dislikes forcing people. "If you don't want to go, that's fine too. At worst, we'll all be driven to the forest together. It's not a big deal. Our family will die together, so it's good!"

Xiao Fu's face turned pale with fright.

I was so excited just now that I didn't think there was anything to be afraid of in the forest, but now, just thinking about that scene makes me tremble.

He doesn't want to be eaten by wild animals!

"Xiao Fu, didn't you want to learn how to hunt with weapons? As long as you find out the information, your brother will teach you tomorrow!" Su Jianyuan tempted.

Xiao Fu swallowed hard. "Really?"

He had long wanted to learn hunting skills, but his older brother treasured his weapons and wouldn't let him touch them.

Su Jianyuan nodded, "Really."

Xiao Fu glanced at Su Tang and the others again. Everyone had been working very hard lately, and he should do something for the family too!

Thinking of this, he nodded vigorously, "Okay! I'll go ask!"

So what if I get beaten up again? There's nothing to be afraid of!

Xiao Fu was about to head to the Gray Wolf Tribe when Lin Xia stopped him.

"Wait a minute, take this with you."

There was a makeshift wooden table pieced together under the tree. Lin Xia grabbed a handful of dried meat that was drying on it, wrapped it in leaves, and handed it to Xiao Fu.

"Mother, what are you doing?" Xiao Fu asked, puzzled.

"These were originally made as snacks for you, but take some and share them with the cubs."

The Gray Wolf tribe was not wealthy to begin with. The cubs here were like children in the 1960s and 70s. They were lucky if they could fill their stomachs, let alone have any snacks.

As the saying goes, "He who eats another's food is bound to do his bidding," and there are methods to gathering intelligence.

"Give them dried meat too..." Xiao Fu muttered, looking unhappy.

He would rather be beaten than give food to the cubs.

However, he always listened to his mother the most, so he just muttered something and left with the dried meat.

The family managed to fool Xiao Fu like that.

Su Tang looked in the direction of the gray wolf tribe, recalling the scenes of her recent interactions with Lang Kui, and a hint of alertness flashed in her eyes.

This guy looks so much like the man she remembers!

It seems she needs to double-check...
