Chapter 27 There's a cop! Gin says he doesn't want to hug his nephew! ...
To remember or to be free, that is the question.
Matsuda Jinpei and Takanashi Chinatsu were caught in a dilemma, while Hagiwara Kenji was exceptionally decisive.
"When a person lives a lifetime, all that's left are memories. If a second-year graduate student loses his memories, is he still a second-year graduate student?" Hagiwara Kenji refused.
Yato, however, was a little tempted: "You're a policeman who has done a lot of good deeds. If you become a divine weapon, you must be very powerful. You can continue to slay monsters and save people. Isn't the purpose of being a policeman to save people?"
Kenji Hagiwara smiled and said with remarkable ease, "I've already died once to save someone. I want to keep my current memories and not forget my family and friends."
"The chance to become a divine artifact isn't something everyone gets. If you come with me..."
Before Yato could finish speaking, Yukine coldly continued, "They will go from being happy earthbound spirits with warm houses and people to unlucky artifacts that live a life of hardship, sometimes hungry and sometimes full, and have to obey the orders of this god."
"Yukine!" Yato jumped up and screamed, "What nonsense are you talking about? Did I starve you? Besides, we didn't sleep outdoors; we stayed at the shrine every night!"
"It's someone else's shrine. Don't think you can pretend you have your own just because you only said half of what you meant!"
"I'm working really hard to take care of you!"
"You were clearly trying really hard to steal!"
The two started arguing again, demonstrating through their actions that the artifact plan was unreliable.
Because Yukine had thwarted his plans, Yato, whose hopes were already slim, completely lost all hope of recruiting a new divine artifact. Somewhat reluctantly, he recommended to them: "As for gods, I don't have many close relationships with them, and the few I know can't be of much help to your situation. Besides, he clearly doesn't want to pass away. I do know a few people outside of gods who might be able to help you."
"Who is it?" Takanashi Chinatsu immediately took out her notebook to write it down.
"Hanako-kun, one of the Seven Mysteries of Kamome Academy, is in the third stall of the girls' restroom on the third floor of the old school building. He will grant the wishes of those who visit him, but there is a price to pay for fulfilling their wishes." Yato's tone was serious, and his eyes sharpened. At this moment, he had a somewhat godlike majesty.
“We can’t go to him. A ghost that demands a high price sounds very unreliable,” Kenji Hagiwara immediately refused.
Matsuda Jinpei then asked, "What price will be charged?"
Yato shrugged and said, "I don't know. He charges different prices depending on each person's wish. But I don't want you to make a wish. He's a kind of earthbound spirit, so you can talk to him. He's a senior, so he should be able to teach you a lot. But be careful. He's the leader of the Seven Mysteries. It'll be dangerous if you anger him. Besides, there are many dangerous ghosts at Kamome Academy itself."
Chinatsu Takanashi fell into deep thought. A ghost? She had heard many ghost stories, especially since she possessed these unique eyes that allowed her to see ghosts. Although most of the stories were eventually proven false, what the gods said must be true.
“If you don’t want to come into contact with ghosts, I also know a human named Tongze Elio, a mysterious and knowledgeable magician.” Yato recommended another person.
Chizuru Takanashi's thoughts suddenly became disjointed.
Who? Who is Yato talking about?
"You mean Tongze Elio, the transfer student from England?" Takanashi Chinatsu immediately asked him to confirm.
Yato immediately perked up: "So you two know each other. I was worried he wouldn't help, since he has an eccentric personality. It's great that you two know each other."
Takanashi Chika silently swallowed a mouthful of saliva. Ah... this is really terrible!
They do know each other, but they are not friends; in fact, they are enemies.
Damn it, how could it be him? Gin might have already sent someone to contact him. In the end, wouldn't that have offended him to death?
“He and I… don’t get along very well. Let’s talk about Hanako-kun instead.” Takanashi Chinatsu quickly walked past Eriol, and lowered her head guiltily when Matsuda Jinpei and Hagiwara Kenji cast their glances at her.
Don't ask her, please, help me!
Inside the classic and elegant Porsche, the latest girl group dance music was playing, the lively music stirring the men's hormones, causing Vodka's muscular body to sway back and forth.
Gin simply put on earplugs, leaned back in the passenger seat, and closed his eyes to rest.
Suddenly, he drew his gun and whirled around, aiming at the person who had suddenly appeared behind him.
"Big brother, what's wrong?" Vodka was taken aback at first, then turned around and saw someone. He slammed on the brakes and immediately drew his gun, pointing it at Elio in the back seat. He asked in a fierce but weak voice, "Who are you? Why are you in our car?"
Gin removed one earbud and coldly uttered the other person's name: "Tongze Eriol".
Tong Ze Elio was dressed in a black mage robe with gold patterns and blue trim. He did not carry a wand, and with a gentle smile, he said politely, "I apologize for the intrusion."
"You seem to have nothing to fear." Gin curled his lips into a wicked grin, like a megalodon that had caught a whiff of blood, revealing its gleaming white teeth.
Tong Ze Elio's gaze swept over the Beretta in Gin's hand and he said, "Magicians are indeed troublesome for ordinary people, but the underworld also has special methods to deal with magicians, such as anti-magic bullets."
"Oh."
"But why haven't you fired yet?" Elio retorted.
Gin did not fire a shot. In fact, he listened carefully to what the other party was saying, indicating a willingness to negotiate.
"Chuuya Nakahara has failed to catch me several times, which has made you feel threatened, hasn't it?" Elio's eyebrows curved, then he showed a troubled expression: "But he has been guarding the Kinomoto family, which is also troublesome for me. Continuing will only deplete the strength of both of us."
"Is this why you came to see me?"
“We’re not enemies, after all. Look, I didn’t even take out my wand.” Elio spread his hands, showing his sincerity.
Gin slowly moved the muzzle of his gun away, but did not put it away.
Vodka looked around blankly, then at the other, and seeing that a fight seemed unlikely, he breathed a sigh of relief and lowered the muzzle of his gun.
“My past life, Clow Reed, had some connection with the Kinomoto family. Kinomoto Sakura was my chosen successor, so you see, I have no ill intentions towards the Kinomoto family. It’s perfectly normal for me to appear by the successor’s side to test and help her.” Eriol got straight to the point; he no longer wanted to see Nakahara Chuuya near the Kinomoto family.
Gin did not comment.
“The bodyguards you hired are affecting the progress of my plans,” Elio said gently to Gin. “So, how about we have him leave?”
Gin said coldly, "I'm not sure if you're telling the truth."
"Why would I need to lie to you?" Elio asked helplessly.
Gin scoffed, "Even rats in the gutter never think they're doing anything wrong when they're doing bad things."
"Isn't that analogy a bit excessive?"
"Aren't magicians just like that? They dare not reveal their abilities to the world and can only live a life of petty scheming." Gin even said with a hint of self-mockery, "The people in the organization are the same. They seem powerful and can kill whoever they want, but they still can't be exposed to the light of day."
He shouldn't have cared, since he was already used to it, but what about Qian Nai? She finally managed to escape the organization, but he dragged her back. Was she going to stay in the organization and be a maggot that couldn't see the light of day for the rest of her life?
Magic... Magic...
Gin's eyes flickered slightly as he said, "Whether or not Chuuya Nakahara leaves is not up to me. If you'd like, I can arrange for you to meet her."
Elio's eyes revealed a hint of helplessness.
Those gray eyes were so clear they were almost unbelievable; just by being swept by the other person's gaze, Gin felt as if the other person had seen right through him.
But he did not back down. He was never afraid, and he had put his life on the gambling table more than once.
“Mr. Kurosawa, I hope you understand that fate cannot be changed. Some people are lucky because of magic, while others are lucky because they are born with too much luck. Anyone who tries to change their fate will suffer a price they cannot bear. This is a truth I understood in my previous life.” Elio’s eyes even showed a hint of pity.
"Fate? To resign oneself to fate and blame others is the behavior of a coward." Gin's green eyes surged with turbulent waves, crashing against the mountain wall, yet appearing as a tiny splash against the backdrop of the towering peaks.
But the tide continues unabated, because Gin never gives up.
Realizing Gin's attitude, Eriol could only agree: "Alright, we'll meet at her safe house in three days."
With a flash, Elio disappeared into the Porsche.
“Gone!” Vodka exclaimed in shock.
Gin ignored Vodka's shock, put his earplugs back in, and ordered, "Drive."
The girl group dance music was still playing, and the car was quickly restarted. Vodka drove timidly, not daring to ask a single question.
Late at night, Gin drove straight to the building where Chizuru Takanashi lives.
As he passed the security booth, the security guard quickly opened the door, but looked at him with a hesitant expression, as if he wanted to say something but couldn't.
Gin frowned and gave the security guard a cold look.
The security guard immediately tensed up, stood at attention, and reported: "Lord Gin, a man stayed overnight at Lord Black Cherry's house today."
Gin's brows furrowed even more, and his tone turned sinister: "Scotland?"
"No, no." The security guard shrank his neck and said with difficulty, "It's...it's a cop."
Matsuda Jinpei.
The name lingered on Gin's lips, but he didn't utter it aloud, only letting out a cold, sinister laugh.
Excellent, black cherries, absolutely wonderful.
Just a few days ago he said he wouldn't have any trouble with the cops, but today he's letting them stay overnight. In a few more days, will he be able to hold his nephew?
Too lazy to even glance at the security guard, Gin strode over to Takanashi Chinatsu's door with an overwhelming sense of pressure, but then took several deep breaths before knocking.
He knocked gently on the door.
A note from the author:
----------------------
Once the term "nephew" comes out, everyone should understand the relationship between Gin and Black Cherry, right?
Despite the constant rumors surrounding Gin and Black Cherry, he is actually the least likely to be on the track!
Seeing this and then carefully rewatching the scene where Chizuru forces Gin to confess, you can imagine how devastated he was, hahaha!
