Chapter 34 Future Talent

"Oh? Is that so?"

Just then, Zhiyin's cold voice reached Zhizhaodi's ears, and she instantly shivered and her face changed color.

The next second, Zhiyin appeared in her field of vision, holding a pitiful little black dog.

Gently stroking the little black dog's head, watching it tremble with fear, Zhiyin was truly angry.

She never imagined that Zhi Zhaodi could be so vicious!

Birds of a feather flock together! They're all cold-blooded and ruthless to the core!

It was just a poor little dog, how could she do that!

She is timid and submissive when facing others, but when facing creatures weaker than her, she strikes hard and shows no mercy.

He's definitely no good!

"Why are you looking at me like that? I didn't hit you, I was just beating a dead dog, why are you interfering? Aren't you being a bit too nosy?"

Zhao Di said resentfully, her eyes showing a hint of fear, but mostly dissatisfaction.

Zhiyin just sneered, "I can ignore other things, but this little black dog is under my protection. If you dare to bully it, or kill it and skin it for food, I won't let you get away with it!"

As she spoke, Zhiyin raised her fist at her, her words carrying a strong sense of threat.

"If you don't believe me, you can try it!"

Zhi Zhaodi shrank back, about to retort defiantly, but when she met Zhiyin's emotionless eyes, she couldn't utter a sound. She just swallowed hard and turned away angrily.

"You brat, aren't you going to come and help?"

You hear their voice before you see them!

Just then, her aunt's familiar loud voice suddenly echoed throughout the courtyard. Normally, Zhi Zhaodi would never want to pay attention to it, and would even feel annoyed.

But looking into Zhiyin's cold eyes, she felt as if she had found a pillar of support, and her eyes were filled with joy as she hurriedly ran out.

Her voice seemed to carry a hint of joy, "Mother...you've come..."

Her voice carried a hint of grievance as she was about to complain, but her aunt impatiently interrupted her.

"Hurry up and take your brother back!"

At that moment, Zhi Zhaodi also saw her grandmother lying on a stretcher, being carried in by her grandfather and eldest uncle, constantly screaming "Ouch, oh my god!"

Her face turned deathly pale instantly. "Mother, what's wrong with Grandmother? How did she become like this?"

Before her aunt could even speak, her grandmother felt humiliated and offended, and angrily began to curse, "Isn't it because you know..."

However, she saw her confidant leaning against the threshold with a half-smile half-closed on her lips half-closed, and instantly swallowed all the words she was about to say.

She glared at her fiercely and then said to Zhi Zhaodi in an annoyed tone, "What nonsense are you spouting? Do you even have the right to speak? Is the food ready? I'm starving! Hurry up and set the table! Are you trying to starve your grandmother to death? I knew you were up to no good!"

Although she was speaking to Zhi Zhaodi, her eyes were fixed on Zhiyin, as if she were making a veiled attack.

But Zhiyin simply raised an eyebrow nonchalantly, "Oh, Grandma's back? Does your bottom still hurt?"

"Do you need your grandson's help?"

Grandmother, hearing Zhiyin's sarcastic remarks, wanted nothing more than to strangle her, but dared not, fearing for her own life.

He just glared at her and then stopped talking.

The eldest uncle and grandfather acted as if their kindred spirits didn't exist, and went into the house on their own.

Zhiyin, however, stepped in front of him and said with a smile, "Grandfather, have you forgotten something? Would you like me to help you remember?"

Grandfather's face darkened instantly, and he flew into a rage, "What are you rushing me for? Do you think I'll leave you out?"

"That's right, who would dare to shortchange you? Don't go to the county government and complain again, making it known to everyone. You're not ashamed, but we are!"

The eldest uncle couldn't help but speak in a cold, sarcastic tone, his eyes filled with gloom.

"Tsk... Uncle, you don't need to talk to me so rudely! I'm just taking back what's rightfully mine!"

Zhiyin chuckled and changed the subject, saying, "Besides, why would I feel ashamed? Don't you all feel ashamed, being so shameless?"

"you…"

The uncle raised his hand several times, seemingly quite angry and wanting to hit her, but in the end he only left behind the words, "You better not come begging to us one day!"

"Otherwise, I will make you wish you were dead!"

"Tsk... This is none of your concern, Uncle. After all, he's 30 years old now and hasn't even passed the imperial examination. He probably can't help much!"

After Zhiyin finished speaking provocatively, seeing her uncle's face growing darker and darker because of her words, she couldn't help but let out a melodious laugh like a copper bell.

But to his uncle, the voice sounded like mockery, deliberately hitting his sore spot. He was so angry he almost jumped up and down, but in the end he just gave his confidant a cold look.

After all, he was 30 years old and still hadn't passed the imperial examination to become a scholar, and he was still relying on his family. This was the thing he least wanted to talk about!

"Pah...you little bitch, don't talk nonsense! He's only 30 years old, my son will definitely pass the exam! He'll definitely make something of himself! Then let's see how you fight me!"

"Once my son passes the exam, even the county magistrate will have to kneel before him!"

Grandmother couldn't stand it anymore; she wouldn't allow anyone to mock her proud son.

She was very confident that her son would make something of himself, that he would transform their family and make them the most respected and admired people in the village.

Seemingly anticipating that day, she couldn't help but laugh out loud, her eyes filled with contempt as she looked at Zhiyin. "As for you! You're only fit for playing petty games!"

"Can you compare to my son? My son is exceptionally intelligent. You will all regret what you have done today!"

"Wow...that's amazing! You're already a student at 30! That's fantastic!!"

Zhiyin immediately made an exaggerated expression and clapped her hands incessantly.

For some reason, even though it was a compliment, the exaggerated tone of the friend made it feel very uncomfortable, as if I had been offended.

"Hmph... Now you know how powerful my son is, right? You little brat, you dare to offend us? You're dead!"

Grandmother, however, didn't understand and even coldly threatened her.

Zhiyin laughed instantly, "I don't know if I'm going to die or not, but I know that if you don't pay back the money, my uncle is probably going to be dead!"

What do you mean by that?

The uncle frowned, becoming even angrier.

"Wow, isn't he supposed to be a future scholar? How come he doesn't even understand this? Tsk tsk tsk..."

Zhiyin's smug tone made the fists of the people present harden.

"Well, it's nothing else, it's just that if you don't pay back the money today, I might accidentally spread the word that the future scholar's parents are deadbeats. I'm sure Uncle won't mind, right?"

Zhiyin rested her chin on her hand, looking thoughtful.
