Chapter Twenty-Eight: I won't leave until I've completely fooled you.

"One thousand and five?"

The price being cut by almost half immediately made Old Li laugh. "Mo Bai, you can't cut the price like that. I thought you were buying clothes at a night market."

"No, Uncle Li, I'm serious."

Yu Mobai didn't care about Lao Li's attitude at all; he just wanted to test the waters.

The profit margin for these large appliances is estimated to be around 10% to 15%, excluding year-end rebates.

Because there is no other competition in the vicinity, the prices in large supermarkets like his are often inflated.

Business is so bad right now, it's possible that Lao Li just wants to earn some hard-earned money and is selling at a low price.

"Old Yu, you can't bargain like that."

Uncle Li looked at Yu Jinsheng, but Yu Jinsheng didn't say a word. So he could only explain to Yu Mobai, "Nephew, you can't take advantage of your uncle's bad business."

"Uncle, I just took a look around and found that you still have quite a lot of stock in your refrigerator."

Yu Mobai didn't rush to explain. Instead, he pointed out Old Li's current problem: "Half of the year has passed, and you still have so much inventory. How are you going to sell this batch when the new model comes out next year?"

“Nephew, your uncle can’t sell it at a loss, can he? The purchase price is more than 1,500.”

"Seventeen thousand, I'll take all of this model of refrigerator."

Old Li was dumbfounded by Yu Mobai's arrogant demeanor.

Did I hear that right? You're taking them all?

Old Li glanced at Yu Jinsheng and, seeing that he had no reaction at all, began to believe him.

Did they win the lottery or are they simply not planning to live like this anymore?

There are more than sixty refrigerators of the same model in his warehouse!

Each one costs 1,700 yuan, and there are more than 60 of them, which would cost over 100,000 yuan!

"Nephew, you're not lying to your uncle, are you?"

Old Li rubbed his hands together and a smile appeared on his face.

He'd be lucky to break even these days; if he could even make a profit, he'd be happy to sell everything!

Upon hearing this, Yu Mobai smiled, thinking that the price was probably about right.

"Of course I'm not lying to you. My supermarket is right across the street. It's not like it could run away."

"What are you going to do with all these refrigerators?"

"I'm going to university soon, you know."

Yu Mobai said with a grin, "My dad was happy and wanted to give back to our loyal customers by giving away a refrigerator with every top-up!"

Yu Jinsheng's face twitched as he listened. What a good son, making his father sound so grand.

Anyone who didn't know better would think they were rolling in money.

"Uncle Li, here's what we'll do: it's better to be early than late. Have someone move all the refrigerators to the entrance of our supermarket now, just make sure they're not blocking the way."

"Are you serious? That money..."

Hearing this, Lao Li was excited. He thought to himself, Lao Yu's family was in a similar situation to his own. When did they become so rich?

"You don't need to worry about the money."

Yu Mobai said with a smile, "After the lottery is over, I'll settle the bill with you. If we don't win, I'll take it all!"

"Alright, seventeen thousand it is!"

Old Li spat into his hands, rubbed them together, and said, "I'll get someone to move them right now!"

The two businesses across the street have been doing business together for almost eight or nine years, and they've eaten together countless times. Old Li wasn't worried about them defaulting on their debts at all, so he simply waved his hand and let them move out!

As truckloads of refrigerators were delivered to his doorstep, Yu Jinsheng realized that he had really messed things up.

How should I explain this to Zheng Zhaoxia?

"Old Yu, I've delivered the goods. When is your supermarket's lucky draw usually?"

Old Li wiped the sweat from his brow. "We can't keep working until next year, can we?"

"Ask him about this."

Yu Jinsheng's head was buzzing at this moment, and when asked, he didn't know either!

"Don't worry, Uncle Li, it will happen before I go to university."

Not long after seeing Lao Li off, Zheng Zhaoxia came to work.

She was stunned to see so many refrigerators in front of her house.

He quickly pulled Yu Jinsheng, who was standing to the side, over and asked, "Old Yu, what are you guys doing? Where did all these refrigerators come from?!"

"Mom, this is ours."

Yu Mobai said with a grin, "I just moved here from across the street."

Zheng Zhaoxia's face turned green when she heard this. How much would so many refrigerators cost?

They probably can't earn that much money in a year!

"Yu Jinsheng, did you buy all of these?"

"I didn't pay any money."

Seeing that his anger was about to reach him, Yu Jinsheng revealed the mastermind behind it all, saying, "It was all your son's doing."

"What exactly happened?"

"Mom, don't worry, listen to me."

Seeing his mother getting angry, Yu Mobai quickly explained without holding back, "Mom, I bought this refrigerator for 1,700 yuan. I'll just tell people that as long as they pay a deposit of 3,000 yuan at my house, they can bring the refrigerator home."

"There's an appliance store right across the street, why would we need to buy from them here?"

Zheng Zhaoxia didn't believe it. "Besides, why not just buy it with money? Why do we have to pay a deposit at our place? And it's more expensive than outside!"

"That's what I'm going to talk about next."

Yu Mobai pulled the couple into the supermarket, saying, "I will return their deposit."

"We'll refund it in three years, then calculate the average amount and decide how much to return each month, and give them all back the three thousand."

Hearing this, Zheng Zhaoxia couldn't help but ask, "What do you mean? Are you really giving it away for free? If we return all the money to them, what are we going to earn?"

Yu Mobai said with a smile, "Mom, do the math. The cost is 1,700 per unit. After deducting the cost, you only get 1,300 back. There are dozens of units outside. How much money would that be?"
