Suddenly, a cat meow came from somewhere, and Mu Bai quickly got up and separated from Su Ruanruan.
Her face flushed red with a hint of panic. "Ruan Ruan, I'm going back to my room first. You, you should go to sleep early."
She was just about to tell Mu Bai that she actually had money and that he didn't need to be afraid, since the house deed was in her hands.
But Brother Mu Bai fled in disarray...
"Brother Mu Bai, remember to lock the door, or I might come looking for you tonight..."
Mu Bai's face flushed even more, and he hurriedly ran away.
Su Ruanruan chuckled softly a few times, but when Mu Bai entered the room, the smile on her face vanished instantly, replaced by a chilling aura.
Su Ruanruan glanced at the roof without making a sound. She had loved cats and dogs since she was a child and was particularly sensitive to their sounds.
No matter how well she imitated it, she could still tell that the meow from earlier was faked by a person.
Tonight is going to be a bit unsettling, and it's very likely related to my release from prison.
Su Ruanruan sat down on a stone bench in the courtyard.
If Butcher Zhou's brother is determined to take revenge, she can't escape it; what she fears most is implicating Mu Bai.
However, she always felt that someone was helping her in secret, otherwise she wouldn't have been released so quickly.
Su Ruanruan sat in the courtyard for another half an hour, and when she heard no noise, she went to wash up.
After she finished tidying up, she saw Mu Bai standing in front of her house.
"Brother Mu Bai, it's so late and the dew is so heavy, why are you out again?"
Mu Bai was in such a hurry to leave that he forgot to change Ruan Ruan's dressing. He spent the next half hour sitting at his desk completing the birthday painting he had promised someone.
Seeing the bright red maple leaves in the painting reminded me that the medicine on Ruanruan's shoulder hadn't been changed yet.
He actually forgot about something so important.
However, when he thought of the intimate scenes of changing his dressing, Mu Bai's fingertips burned. He couldn't help but feel uneasy, afraid that Ruan Ruan's gaze would pierce through his heart.
Su Ruanruan sighed silently, Mu Bai was so shy.
However, she couldn't hide her feelings for him. Whenever she saw him blush, her heart would flutter uncontrollably.
Su Ruanruan knew what Mu Bai was doing out, and before he could speak, she said, "Brother Mu Bai, you haven't changed my dressing yet today. Can you change it for me now?"
Su Ruanruan gently took Mu Bai's hand, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.
Mu Bai's ears turned slightly red, and she replied softly, "Okay."
He let Su Ruanruan pull him into the room.
