Chapter 61 After Marriage

Chapter 61 After Marriage

Jialu practically threw off the covers, slipped on her soft shoes, and was about to go out to see her Abu.

"Master, Master, you are not dressed yet."

Emerald quickly stepped forward, helped Galo up, and said to her in a fast voice.

"Go and invite Abu in quickly."

Jialuo, holding Emerald's hand, said.

As soon as he finished speaking, Jialuo heard the door open and Abu hurriedly entered.

Outside, the room was dimly lit, and in front of the platform of the Qianqing Palace, a huge incense burner emitted the fragrance of ambergris.

The stars twinkled faintly at this moment, their brilliance almost obscured by the hazy sunlight.

The tall man, Wu Keshan, with his braid, strode across the threshold.

When Jialuo saw Abu for the first time, she felt an overwhelming sense of grievance, along with the trembling she felt after the terror of the previous night.

In that instant, she was instantly engulfed.

"Abu!"

Jialuo rushed towards Abu, and Wu Keshan didn't even have time to bow before embracing her.

"New Sari, don't be afraid, Abu is here."

Abu's voice remained as steady as ever, with undisguised tenderness and heartache.

Just that one sentence caused Jialuo to burst into tears instantly.

She leaned on her father in this life, relying on him completely, and cried as if venting all her grievances.

"My dear daughter, you must be terrified, right?"

Abu patted her back as he spoke in a low voice.

As Jialuo's tears subsided, she suddenly remembered something, and uneasily took Abu's hand, tears streaming down her face as she looked at Abu.

“Abu, Fifth Sister, she…”

She had barely begun to speak when Jialuo could no longer continue.

Her gaze was fixed on the white hair in Abu's bun.

Jialuo clearly remembered that just a few days ago at the villa in the suburbs of Beijing, Abu still had a full head of black hair.

In just a few days, so many gray hairs have appeared?

Yes, no matter how unforgivable the things Fifth Sister did, she is still Abu's biological daughter.

She was merely a soul from another world that had taken over the body of Abu and Eji's daughter.

But Abu didn't blame her at all. Instead, as soon as they met, he told her not to be afraid, that Abu had come.

They were also comforting her, asking her if she was terrified.

The room fell silent. Behind Abu and in front of Galo, the sun slowly rose.

The crimson sunrise bathed the palace in a magnificent glow.

Last night, that pool of blood that slowly spread out reappeared before Jialuo.

Afraid that Abu would discover the emotions in her eyes, she hurriedly lowered her eyelashes, took Abu's large hand, and whispered, "Abu, Fifth Sister passed away last night."

She heard Abu sigh, and his large hands led her to a couch to the side.

“Abu knew. Abu was a man and could not stay in the palace. By the time Abu learned that the Empress Dowager had invited the Great Shaman to the palace, he could no longer enter.”

The father and daughter sat on the couch. Jialuo dared not meet his eyes, but looked down at their clasped hands, quietly listening to Abu speak.

“When your fifth sister wanted to come to the capital, Abu disagreed.”

"But I never expected that your mother would lack support. It's all my fault for not understanding that your mother meant for your fifth sister to compete for your position."

"But don't blame your mother either, she..."

Jialu shook her head and said in a low voice, "You and Mother know my background perfectly well, but even so, you and Mother raised me like your own daughter. How could I possibly resent you in the slightest for such kindness?"

She had barely finished speaking when she heard Abu sigh.

That sigh was filled with endless sorrow and grief.

Unable to bear seeing Abu saddened any longer, Jialuo looked up again, meeting Abu's gaze, wanting to tell him that she truly harbored no resentment towards her mother.

But she met a pair of eyes filled with deep heartache.

Abu's eyes are dark brown, and his skin bears the marks left by the Horqin Grassland.

At this moment, those eyes, which once held the verdant world, were now filled with heartache and sorrow.

“Child, you are Abu’s daughter, nothing else. The original child left before you were born, and you appeared at this very moment.”

"At first, Abu wondered if that child, like you, could be reborn into another body and become someone else's child?"

"With this in mind, Abu, with your mother's consent, was born smoothly."

"You are lively, romantic, and even polite and sensible."

"Under your influence, your older brothers and sisters have become much more sensible."

"The name 'New Sari' is also a blessing from Abu. This birth is filled with hope and your own expectations."

"You are Abu's daughter, the brightest pearl of the Horqin Grassland."

As Jialuo listened to Abu's words, tears welled up in her eyes and spilled over as she blinked, sliding down her cheeks.

"As for your fifth sister, she is stupid and foolish. She learned about your origins from your mother and also knew that the Emperor personally went to the villa to pick you up. She was resentful and, disregarding your mother's objections, ran to the Empress Dowager and told her about it, wanting to put you to death."

“How stupid! Abu didn’t even know that your fifth sister was so stupid and foolish. She not only wanted to kill you, but also disregarded the entire Khorchin tribe.”

"She assumed that because the Empress Dowager's surname was Borjigit, she was Borjigit's daughter?"

"She never really understood who the Empress Dowager was, nor did she really understand who the Emperor was."

When Jialuo heard Abu say this, she felt an overwhelming mix of emotion and sadness.

Abu treated him like his own daughter. How could Jialuo not know this? How could she be a little fake in the care and love she had given him over the past ten years?

But she also knew that despite what Abu said, how could Abu not be saddened by his fifth sister's death?

The bond between father and daughter cannot be obscured by a simple right or wrong.

At this moment, looking into Abu's eyes, Jialuo wished she had never appeared in the capital, and even hated Fulin for liking her.

He also hated himself for not simply following the course of history and letting Fulin depose him.

But it's too late now; in the end, it's all for naught.

Seeing that she didn't look well, Wu Keshan said a few words to comfort her.

Jialuo didn't want Abu to worry about her anymore, so she forced herself to cheer up and comforted Abu.

An hour later, seeing that the court session was about to end, Wu Keshan said he was going to see the Empress Dowager and told her to rest well, saying he would come to see her again the next day.

Galo nodded and saw Abu out of the palace.

At this moment, the sunlight shines on the Forbidden City as always. The palaces, which were layered and imposing last night, now radiate a majestic and solemn light under the sunlight.

The bricks on the platform were spotless, without a trace of blood.

Jialuo stood at the door, looking at the scene that had been like hell last night, but today it was as if nothing had happened.

Jade and agate stood quietly behind her, without uttering a word.

But in the distance, sounds gradually began to emerge.

Jialuo watched quietly until the bright yellow figure hurriedly appeared in her sight.

The man looked nervous and moved hurriedly.

He seemed extremely worried about her.

Last night, he helped her, he protected her, and he saved Jialuo from dying. He also forcefully protected Borjigit.

The emperor who was once suppressed at every turn has now broken free of his shackles.

Author's Note: I've been stuck for a long time these past few days, thinking a lot about how to write the sequel. Traditionally, the story should have Fu Lin comforting Jia Luo when she's heartbroken, helping her through this most difficult time for her. So, the words Wu Ke Shan originally spoke to Jia Luo should have been delivered by Fu Lin.

But I think Jialuo shouldn't be arranged like this. She has more than just the love a man gives her; she also has a father's love as strong as a mountain. Her life won't be just about love; she will also experience other growth and have other aspects of her life. [Starry-eyed]
