Chapter Forty-Two: Rebirth



"I must give her an explanation!"

Without even thinking, I knew she was referring to okra.

He changed the subject abruptly, raising an eyebrow and teasing, "I never remember you talking so much. Have you been corrupted by that little girl Ling Shuang?"

Upon hearing the name Ling Shuang, a slightly unnatural expression flashed across Ling Ran's face.

Just as I was wondering how to reply, a surprised voice saved me.

"They're here! They're here!" A bandit waved his hoe excitedly.

The cave was crowded with people, all looking at Ye Lisheng and his group with hopeful eyes.

"Your Highness, are you here to take us home?" the bandit asked as he ran up to him.

He said with some regret, "You can no longer return to Wuyou Valley, but please rest assured, I have found you another place to stay!"

"There you will not be bandits, and you will not have to worry about being tracked down by government troops!"

The leader was overjoyed upon hearing this: "As long as we have a place to stay, we don't care where the prince sends us!"

"Thank you, Your Highness!" everyone said in unison.

A burning gaze was fixed on him from the crowd. He followed the gaze, and the person immediately lowered their head.

The person was dressed simply, and was dressed as a woman.

A moment later, when she looked up again, her face was covered, and only a pair of bright eyes could be seen.

She paused for a few seconds as she passed Ye Lisheng, and a warm feeling flowed through her heart when she met her kind and gentle gaze.

He was puzzled at the time, but now he thinks she might be his mother.

"Ling Ran!" he called out, having hurriedly put on his clothes.

Ling Ran descended from the sky and stood before him: "Your Highness, what are your orders?"

"Come with me to a place!"
