The two of them led the way carrying bags, and Tang Huan followed behind them holding her mother-in-law's hand.
After knowing that they had contacted Meng Zeyan, she quietly breathed a sigh of relief. He had not contacted his family for such a long time, most likely because he had a mission.
After feeling relieved, Tang Huan began to realize some of her mistakes. She shouldn't have agreed to let her mother-in-law come to the army to find him.
It is normal for soldiers to have missions, and it is also common that they cannot be contacted. Her mother-in-law is worried, so she should help her to feel at ease instead of agreeing to accompany her to the military camp to look for someone.
Xing Cui also felt that she was making a fuss out of nothing this time, and whispered to Tang Huan, "I wonder if your brother will be angry? Did we cause him any trouble?"
"No." Tang Huan whispered to comfort her, "I'm sure I know you're worried about him. We just don't come here casually in the future."
Xing Cui nodded and said, "I have to be patient from now on."
The two followed the two military comrades into the military compound. The military comrades took them around the training ground and walked to the family building at the back.
The family members of the troops who have quotas to accompany the troops are all in this area. There are two five-story buildings in total, with eight households on each floor.
The size of the houses was allocated according to military rank.
Meng Zeyan lives in the second house on the left on the third floor of the second building. The house he was assigned has three bedrooms and a living room.
After the two comrades put the things in the house, they handed the key to Xing Cui, and then took the two of them to the cafeteria.
On the way, Xing Cui asked the two men's names. The talkative one was called Song Cheng, and the silent one was called Fan Zhou. Both of them were company commanders under Meng Zeyan. They were in a meeting and were sent here to pick someone up.
After going to the cafeteria, I heard them give a brief description of the locations of nearby shops that are convenient for shopping.
After sending them home, the two comrades left first.
No one had cleaned the house for more than ten days. Tang Huan and Xing Cui fetched water and cleaned the house inside and out.
After cleaning up, the two of them sat on the sofa. Xing Cui looked at the furnishings in the house. It was such a big house, but it was cold and deserted. "This house still needs a hostess, otherwise it won't feel like home."
The living room is not small, but the furnishings are extremely simple. There is a sofa, a coffee table and a TV. Apart from these things, there is not even any decoration.
There are three rooms, two of which are unoccupied and show no signs of having been used.
In the only room where someone lived, there was only a bed, a desk and a telephone.
Meng Zeyan did not set up a study, but instead put his desk in his own room.
"There really needs to be a hostess, otherwise it would be too monotonous." Tang Huan agreed. This place doesn't feel like home, it feels more like a temporary hotel.
She knew her thoughts were a bit over the line, and she wouldn't have any extravagant expectations. Like her mother-in-law, she really wanted him to have someone to live with.
The phone rang from Meng Zeyan's room, and the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law turned around at the same time.
That was Meng Zeyan's room, and Tang Huan did not move.
Xing Cui got up to answer the phone, thinking it might be Meng Qinghe calling.
When the phone was picked up, the voice on the other end was Meng Zeyan. He said he could come back tonight and send them back early tomorrow morning, so that Tang Huan would not be late for school.
The two of them talked for only a few words on the phone before Meng Zeyan hung up in a hurry.
The ringing of the phone reminded Tang Huan of something he had remembered and forgotten before: he didn't call Feng Sisi and Sun Qiyang.
She stood up and walked to the door of Meng Zeyan's room, waiting for her mother-in-law to finish the call. This chapter has been read (please click on the next chapter to continue reading!)
