Chapter 54, Come Back (1/2)

Tang Huan knocked on the door only after he could no longer hear any talking inside, saying he wanted to use the phone.

Xing Cui asked her to come in and gave her the phone, and told her by the way that Meng Zeyan would not be late for school.

Tang Huan has already registered with Teacher Zhang. It is very difficult for her to ask for leave. If she doesn't go, she will be absent from class, and if she is absent from class, she will have to write a self-criticism...

Borrowing the phone, Tang Huan called Feng Sisi and told her that he had something to do today, and asked her to help call Sun Qiyang and tell him something.

Sun Qiyang wrote down the phone number three times, one for each person. Tang Huan put it in his book when he got home and didn't take it with him when he came back.

She could barely remember the first number, which was Feng Sisi's. She couldn't remember the second one, so she had to ask Feng Sisi to help pass it on.

Feng Sisi happened to have something to do today. She wanted to visit relatives with her parents, but couldn't go. She was about to call Tang Huan and Sun Qiyang, but Tang Huan called first.

At noon, Tang Huan went to the cafeteria to get her lunch. The food portions in the cafeteria were quite large, so she ordered one meat dish and one vegetable dish, plus two taels of rice.

On the way, she met many neighbors from the military family building, and they all asked her where she was from. Tang Huan answered in unison that she was Captain Meng's sister.

There was also an enthusiastic older sister who pulled her aside and asked if she was married or had a partner, apparently wanting to act as a matchmaker.

Tang Huan avoided him on the pretext of being in a hurry to go home and deliver food.

The food in the cafeteria is large in portion, but the taste is really not outstanding. Xing Cui said while eating that the chef's cooking skills need to be improved.

After dinner, Xing Cui helped clean up Meng Zeyan's room, and Tang Huan sat on the sofa watching TV.

Actually, there wasn't much to clean up in Meng Zeyan's room. Most of it was military uniforms, neatly hung. Xing Cui would untie each piece of clothing to see if any needed buttons or sewing.

They didn't want to eat in the cafeteria for dinner, so in the evening, the older sister next door knocked on the door and asked if they wanted to go shopping for groceries together, so Xing Cui went with her.

Tang Huan was still watching TV. She didn't like watching it that much, but she had nothing to do if she didn't watch it. It was too boring.

Not long after, there was a knock on the door. She thought it was Xing Cui coming back, so she quickly walked over and opened the door.

The person at the door was not Xing Cui, but a gay man.

When the gay man saw that it was a lesbian who opened the door, he was also stunned.

"···Is this Captain Meng's home?"

Tang Huan nodded, "Yes, he's not here."

"Oh, then... then I'll come back later..." The gay man seemed a little at a loss. He left a word, turned around stiffly and walked aside.

The direction he was walking didn't seem to be the direction of going up or down stairs. Could he be the neighbor on this floor?

Without even leaving a name or anything, Tang Huan didn't know how to tell Meng Zeyan that someone was looking for him.

You can't just say that a gay man is looking for you, but you don't know his name or what he wants?

Or she could say which one it was!

Tang Huan quietly stuck his head out and watched the man's back as he left, wanting to see clearly which room he was going to.

The man walked to the next door and suddenly stopped. Tang Huan thought he was going to take out his key to go in, but he turned around and walked back...

Qiu Zhigang turned around and looked at Captain Meng's little head sticking out of the door, and his face began to turn red.

"I...I took the wrong turn."

Is there anything more terrifying than a socially anxious person encountering a social death incident?

Tang Huan pulled her head back and wanted to close the door, but she felt it would be rude. So before she could react, her head was already sticking out of the door again.

"I just want to know your name so I can tell Captain Meng who's looking for him."

"···My name is Qiu Zhigang." Qiu Zhigang answered with a red face.
