He Yanzhi's pale face felt embarrassed by Su Tao's eager gaze. Two blushes crept up her cheeks, brightening the girl's complexion. "I don't know, but my brother picked them from the mountains, brought them back, dried them, and soaked them in water. They're very fragrant and delicious."
So that's how it is. The wild tea leaves from the mountains are not fried, but simply dried and brewed. No wonder they taste bitter.
Su Tao was about to say something when he saw a tall figure walk in. The man had just finished taking a shower and was wiping his hair with his hands raised as he slowly approached.
Su Tao stared at the beauty before him in amazement. The man was shirtless, his eight-pack abs clearly visible, and wet water dripped down along the lines of his muscles, his bronze skin gleaming against the water's light. He wore a pair of loose black shorts, and his slender legs exuded a strong sense of sexiness and wildness.
He Chuan looked at Su Tao's blank and stunned eyes, and felt amused in his heart, but he didn't show it on his face. He reminded him seriously: "You are drooling!"
"Huh?" Su Tao was interrupted by the man's serious gaze. He frantically wiped the corner of his mouth with his hand, his cheeks as red as boiled shrimp.
"No? You lied to me?" There was no saliva at all. Su Tao realized that he had been deceived. He puffed up his cheeks angrily and stared at He Chuan with wide eyes.
The man had already put away his serious expression and replaced it with a playful one, looking at her with a smirk.
Today's men are a little different. They are no longer as cold and stern as before, and are more like naughty big boys.
After not seeing each other for a few days, Su Tao found himself missing He Chuan inexplicably. Looking at this familiar handsome face, the panic he had felt when he came here seemed to be soothed, as if having this man by his side would definitely protect him.
Su Tao was thinking about something randomly and patted his hot little face. Fortunately, the redness of his face due to shame had not subsided. Otherwise, he would really be too embarrassed to see anyone.
Su Tao secretly glanced at He Chuan and felt relieved when he found that he didn't notice anything unusual.
"Well... I came here today specifically to return your handkerchief. It got dirty last time I used it, so I washed it clean. I never had the chance to return it to you." Su Tao looked at the man and said softly.
The man's eyes darkened, and he gripped her fingers tightly, saying in a deep voice, "No need to return it. I've given it to you, so just take it and use it."
"How can I do that? This handkerchief is so delicate and valuable, and you can tell at a glance that it's used by a girl. What if the girl sees that the handkerchief given to you has been given to another girl?" Su Tao said he was embarrassed, but his eyes were expectantly looking at He Chuan's answer. This question had been weighing on Su Tao's mind for a long time, and today he finally had the chance to ask it.
"Tsk, where are the girls? Who would like a grown-up like me? This is what my mother left behind, you can use it with confidence." He Chuan said self-deprecatingly.
Su Tao was both distressed and happy to hear this. Cheng Yu was nothing. In Su Yao's eyes, it was not a big deal at all. But Su Tao couldn't tell He Chuan about it. He would not believe it even if he told him. Su Tao was happy that there was no girl who was He Chuan's mother's handkerchief. It was a pity that he had been brooding over it all this time.
"Yes, Sister Su, just accept it without worry. This handkerchief is left by my mother for my future daughter-in-law." He Yanzhi blurted out a word at the right time, making her face, which had just turned cold, turn red again.
Looking at Su Tao's flushed face, He Chuan chuckled, "Don't listen to her nonsense, it's not true."
Su Tao felt that she would be at a disadvantage if she continued talking, so she quickly changed the subject: "Is this your own house?" It was no wonder that Su Tao was confused. Most people in the village still lived in mud-brick houses, including the village head, village party secretary, team leader, and others. Their houses were just bigger than others.
Hechuan's house was a tall, blue brick and tile house. Such a grand style must have cost a lot of money, and no one in the village could possibly afford it. How could Hechuan, who was so poor, possibly live in such a house?
"You should know that my family is not a local resident here. We moved here because of some reasons. This house was originally the house of an old landlord. Later it was abandoned and the villagers did not dare to live in it for fear that it would cause trouble. We are not afraid. Anyway, it has come to this. What is there to be afraid of? Why not live in a ready-made house? So we applied to the village to live here." He Chuan explained calmly.
"Oh, I was so busy talking that I almost forgot. I brought you some snails that I made myself. They are so delicious. Try them." Su Tao took out a bowl of snails and handed it to them as if he was presenting a treasure.
He Chuan took the bowl and placed it on the Eight Immortals table. "Let's go! It's getting late. I'll take you back to Dong!"
"Oh, okay." Su Tao agreed. It was indeed late, and the shadow of her coming here was still there. She was a little scared to go back alone.
"Wait a moment, I need to put on some clothes." He Chuan turned and went into the main room.
After a while, He Chuan changed into his shirt and trousers and came out, "Let's go."
Su Tao said goodbye to He Yanzhi and followed He Chuan out.
