Chapter 196 The Mouse and the Stubborn Donkey (1/2)

Shang Yechu was momentarily speechless.

"Alright. Shuke Shuke, Beta has finished his report. Now it's your turn to explain. Why were you in such a hurry to send that damn thing before five o'clock?"

Shang Yechu's eyes flickered.

The reason for posting at five o'clock was, of course, to annoy Ji Juntao. To put it more clearly, the whole thing was simply Shang Yechu's resistance against Ji Juntao's dictatorial behavior.

Ji Juntao was autocratic and never consulted Shang Yechu on anything. Often, before Shang Yechu even knew what was happening, Ji Juntao had already arranged everything.

Since the collaboration began, similar incidents have been commonplace. Shang Yechu herself has lost count, ranging from the smallest details of daily life to the major promotion of "The Mute Woman." If Shang Yechu didn't control the accounts on platforms like Weibo, Ji Juntao probably could have managed the entire business for her.

If Shang Yechu were a timid and indecisive newcomer, she would probably be happy to see Ji Juntao take on so much responsibility. But Shang Yechu is not.

Shang Yechu is an independent person, someone who has spent her whole life trying to escape control! If she escapes from the control of her family and then plunges into Ji Juntao's control, what's the point of her life? Is being a puppet really that addictive?

To put it in a more feudal sense, Shang Yechu wanted a prime minister or strategist to assist in building the empire, but Ji Juntao was a de facto emperor who would rule from behind the curtain, and one who would not die for at least another fifteen years.

The conflict between the two was bound to erupt sooner or later; "The Mute Woman" was just the fuse.

Seeing that Shang Yechu remained silent, Ji Juntao scoffed, "I know even if you don't say it. Do you think it's so good to disgust me? People say that you can share hardship but not wealth. We haven't even become wealthy yet, and you're already creating hardship for me."

Shang Yechu frowned. She wanted to sit on the sofa, but Ji Juntao was sprawled out on it, making it too close to her no matter where she sat. Shang Yechu then considered sitting back at the computer desk, but felt that would be too far from Ji Juntao.

Shang Yechu simply plopped down on the coffee table in front of Ji Juntao, tilting her head to look down at him and said, "What trouble have I caused you? Explain yourself."

Ji Juntao gently tapped the coffee table in front of him. With a "clang," the glass surface collided with his fingers, producing a clear and melodious sound.

“You’re disobedient, you’re so disobedient.” Ji Juntao shook his head and sighed, “Go out and see, which artist’s account isn’t managed by the company? Which artist is like you, refusing to accept this or that? Which artist is like you, eating and drinking every day, focusing on their appetite? —Let’s let this one go for now, since you haven’t gained weight.”

"I told you to go to the hospital to get your gastrointestinal problems checked, did you go? I introduced you to six psychologists, which one did you see?"

"I asked you to tell me about your family situation, did you? I asked you to be a fan of Duomeimei, did you do your job?"

Ji Juntao started rambling on and on. Some of the things she mentioned were things that even Shang Yechu had forgotten, or hadn't taken to heart at all. Yet this busy boss could recite them fluently and coherently.

Clearly, like Shang Yechu, Ji Juntao had long harbored resentment.

Shang Yechu felt that she had reached the limit of her tolerance for Ji Juntao, but Ji Juntao thought that Shang Yechu was still too disobedient!

On one hand, there is a high degree of subjectivity and individuality; on the other hand, there is an almost dictatorial desire for control.

Shang Yechu suddenly realized that she had made a terrible mistake.

She only considered the future success of Qingping Entertainment, but never considered what kind of person Ji Juntao was or whether they were compatible.

It's obvious that Ji Juntao, who is known as a strongman, could not possibly be a soft person like dough.

Terminating the contract is out of the question. Ye Chu can't afford to lose that much money. Even if another party takes over, there won't be such a flexible contract again.
