The late autumn wind carried dampness and chill. Shang Yechu rolled up the car window, and only then did she feel a little better.
Three faces were reflected in the windshield: the driver, Shang Yechu, and Shi Shan sitting in the back. They were blurry and indistinct.
With outsiders present, Shi Shan and Shang Yechu couldn't discuss those private topics. Therefore, they could only remain silent and close their eyes to rest.
The car was very quiet. The Mercedes-Benz drove for a full hour before stopping.
Shang Yechu rolled down the car window and looked out. The car stopped in front of a dark gray, detached building. In the night, the surrounding lights illuminated the building, making the dark gray appear stark white. The angular, three-story building resembled a coffin box. From the outside, it exuded a deep, cold, and hard industrial aura.
There were no plaques or signs on the building's exterior. Shang Yechu's gaze lingered for a long time before finally catching sight of a shield-shaped relief emblem on the far right in the darkness. Embedded in the center of the shield was a pattern that pointed upwards from the bottom; after a moment's scrutiny, Shang Yechu realized it was a bullet.
Apart from this emblem, there is no text that can explain the identity of this concrete-colored building.
Shang Yechu paused, then suddenly realized something: "This is a shooting club?"
Shi Shan opened his eyes, chuckled softly, and uttered a string of words that Shang Ye Chu couldn't understand.
Shang Yechu honestly replied, "I don't understand."
Shi Shan did not show any mockery, and said gently, "This is 'infinity'."
Upon hearing the name Shi Shan, Shang Yechu immediately remembered. Ji Juntao had recently been visiting numerous shooting ranges, shooting halls, and shooting clubs, but none of them satisfied her. High-end, secluded shooting locations required connections, and Ji Juntao wasn't a local power, so she couldn't establish relationships quickly. She was exhausted.
Of all the locations Ji Juntao visited, "Infinite" was the best in terms of overall conditions. It boasts the most comprehensive and diverse range of weapon models, offers live-fire shooting, and is equipped with shooting ranges simulating various environments, a large military weapons exhibition hall, and state-of-the-art VR simulation training equipment.
Such places are naturally incredibly expensive. Ji Juntao gritted his teeth and spent the money, only to be told that money was useless, as "Unlimited" required a month's advance reservation to enter.
Neither Boss Ji nor Shang Yechu had enough influence to warrant an exception. Shang Yechu and Ji Juntao could only sigh in vain.
"You booked it a month ago?" Shang Yechu said. "You really had foresight."
"I'm not that shrewd," Shi Shan said modestly. "The owner here is one of my uncles, and we're fairly familiar with each other."
Shang Yechu choked on her food, then fell silent, remembering Ji Juntao's face, which was tanned like a pancake from all the running around.
"Shall we go in and take a look?" Shi Shan suggested with a smile.
Shang Yechu glanced again at the cold and austere building that seemed to keep people at arm's length, and sighed inexplicably: "If we refuse, then we'll be too ungrateful."
"It's nothing." As he spoke, Shi Shan got out of the car, walked to the front door, opened the door for Shang Yechu, and gentlemanly reached out to shield the car edge to prevent Shang Yechu from bumping her head.
"If you're interested, you can come here anytime you want."
Shang Yechu got out of the car and squinted unconsciously at the bright lights.
Seeing this, Shi Shan leaned out slightly to block most of the light for Shang Yechu: "This is simply a typical case of light pollution. No wonder the boss plans to renovate it next year."
Shang Yechu pushed up her sunglasses, a slight smile playing on her lips: "More than light pollution, I'm curious whether the soundproofing here will cause noise pollution."
"You'll see when you go inside." Shi Shan smiled and extended his hand in an inviting gesture. "Come with me."
Shang Yechu followed Shi Shan to the entrance of the shooting club. The entrance was very well hidden and would be difficult to find without someone leading the way.
Passing through the unassuming metal gate, two burly security guards in black stood at the entrance, their appearance quite fitting Shang Yechu's stereotypical image. Upon seeing Shi Shan, the two nodded slightly, and without conducting any checks or obstruction, let Shi Shan and Shang Yechu pass.
As Shang Ye looked up, she saw surveillance equipment glowing with a faint red light from all directions above her. She inexplicably felt like she was being watched.
After passing through three security checks and metal doors, Shang Yechu and Shi Shan finally arrived at the lobby of the venue. The lobby was equally cold and austere, exuding a chilling sense of technology. On both sides were two huge, long display walls, behind which, behind bulletproof glass, rows of weapons of various styles gleamed with an eerie, cold light.
Shang Yechu sipped through a gun manual, painstakingly matching the firearms to their specifications using his limited theoretical knowledge. He identified several types of firearms, including the classic Nightawk PX-9 pistol, the Lingshe 7C pistol, the trendy SDS-MMG submachine gun, the Lynx submachine gun, and the Titanfall MX machine gun, among other specialized firearms.
The exhibition wall displays weapons chronologically, with the viewer's gaze shifting as they change. Gradually, several firearms commonly used by Li Yiming during the Republic of China era appear. Pen pistols and lipstick pistols are also included, as well as antique guns and Mauser C96 pistols that have already been consigned to museums.
You get what you pay for. No wonder Ji Juntao was so angry after failing to book a session with this shooting club that he ate three bowls of rice. This is indeed a chosen training ground.
Although Ruguan TV will train the lead actors before filming, the filming time for a drama is limited. If you only rely on the training courses of the production team, your progress will be very limited.
Shang Yechu's gaze lingered on the gun, so Shi Shan slowed down, waiting for Shang Yechu to finish looking at it.
Shang Yechu looked away from the exhibition areas on both sides and said apologetically, "I'm sorry, this is the first time I've ever seen a real gun."
"It's nothing," Shi Shan laughed. "When I first came here, I lingered there too, making my family lose face. Compared to you, you've been quite restrained."
This is a very eloquent man. Shang Yechu had to admit that even with the utmost caution, it was hard not to relax in front of Shi Shan.
A waiter in a black uniform and wearing a headset approached Shi Shan and said respectfully, "Mr. Shi, is it the same as usual?"
Shi Shan waved his hand: "No. It's a training ground for beginners."
The staff didn't ask any unnecessary questions: "Okay, sir, madam, this way please."
Shang Yechu followed the staff through the long corridor. Both ends of the corridor were also bulletproof glass display walls. After passing through this long river of weapons, Shang Yechu could almost smell the gunpowder.
