Chapter 85 Heart Fire

The golden light of the rising sun was so dazzling that Yun Wei suddenly felt a darkness before his eyes.

He squinted, trying to calm the sudden dizziness, but when he opened his eyes again, it went dark again. His hand, which was clasped with Isaac's, was suddenly lifted and pressed down on the soft haystack behind him by the other's large hand.

Yun Wei looked up in surprise, only to be met once again by those resolute eyes. The smoky gray eyes were like ashes from a fire, and the once clear eyes were now churning with complex and intense emotions, like a boiling, still sea.

"I...Isaac?" Yun Wei was somewhat incredulous. He thought he must be dreaming.

The tall knight knelt on one knee, straddling him, staring intently down at him. His right leg and left hand were firmly controlled by the knight, rendering him unable to move.

He didn't want to struggle either.

The other person's tall figure enveloped him with a familiar scent of fruit and wood, yet he remained silent, leaving Yun Wei momentarily stunned.

He moved his lips, then said again in a hoarse voice, "Isaac..."

At his call, the distance between the two closed, and Yun Wei saw the other's handsome face slowly approaching him. Yun Wei thought Isaac was going to kiss him, so he obediently lowered his eyes.

But he was wrong. Isaac simply scooped him up and pulled him into a tight embrace. The other man's chin rested on the crook of his neck, and his large, broad hands covered the back of his head, slowly stroking it.

A long-lost sense of security washed over him, and Yun Wei relaxed his tense body, nestling comfortably in Isaac's arms. He heard the other man whisper in his ear, "Yun, I'm back..."

The voice was suppressed and low, filled with guilt, like a sob.

Isaac seemed to have a lot to say to him. The two were pressed close together, and Yun Wei could feel the trembling of the other's facial muscles. But after waiting and waiting, in the end, Isaac only said, "I'm sorry."

This was precisely the last thing Yun Wei wanted to hear.

Like an underwater volcano finally erupting, his almost lifeless heart was also churning with increasingly intense emotions: worry, anger, resentment, and lingering fear...

The emotions that had been forcibly suppressed now erupted and rebounded, creating a tsunami in his chest and mind, with crashing waves. Only at this moment did Yun Wei feel that he had come back to life.

The dull sense of distortion vanished, and he finally returned to reality.

And Isaac exists in this reality.

So Yun Wei opened his mouth almost in resentment and bit Isaac's shoulder hard. His dark eyes held smoldering embers, which, with just a little more fuel, ignited into a raging inferno.

The servant, who had been silent, tensed his muscles reflexively upon being suddenly attacked. However, upon realizing that it was the wrath of his master, he obediently relaxed his suddenly tensed trapezius muscles.

Clearly sensing the other's submission, Yun Wei didn't exert any more force. He quietly rested on Isaac's shoulder and closed his eyes. The rough cotton cloth was soaked with saliva, and the touch of his tongue carried a strange rusty taste, but he didn't want to let go of his mouth for the time being.

The slight tremor between his lips, emanating from his muscles, was so vivid and real that it brought tears to his eyes.

Isaac really survived.

He was not left all alone.

That's wonderful.

Even though Mingyun Wei had already closed her eyes, a torrent of tears kept flowing and rolling down from between her thick eyelashes.

Like beads from a broken string, completely out of control, as if the tears that had vanished without a trace before had instantly refilled his tear ducts.

Yun Wei buried his face in Isaac's shoulder and cried quietly until his follower belatedly noticed. Isaac gently cupped Yun Wei's face in his hands, and the wetness on his fingertips made his heart burn with desire.

He anxiously comforted her, "I'm sorry, Yun, don't cry, it's all my fault..."

Yun Wei ignored Isaac, his eyes still closed, immersed in the overwhelming emotions of regaining what he had lost.

Isaac was at a loss, but the slight itch in his shoulder gave him an idea. He hastily rolled up his sleeve and presented his strong arm to Yun Wei.

He said nervously, "Yun, if you're still not satisfied, bite here."

The air seemed to freeze.

Yun Wei was stunned.

He suddenly opened his eyes and, through his damp eyelashes, silently stared at Isaac's bulging triceps, held up in front of him.

After a while, Yun Wei pushed the unmoving follower in front of him with disgust, and said with some embarrassment and anger, "Isaac! You, you think I'm a dog in disguise? Move away, move away, go cool off somewhere else."

His voice still carried a sob, but he broke into a smile through his tears.

But the next moment, he was pulled into a tight embrace again. Strong arms encircled his shoulders and waist, and large hands pressed against the back of his head, with force and intensity.

Isaac said sullenly, "I was wrong, Cloud. Don't send me away..."

"Who said you were leaving?" Yun Wei sniffed, slowly hugging his follower back. "You almost scared me to death, Isaac. Do you know how desperate I was? Isaac, tell me, am I dreaming...?"

“Isaac…”

Yun Wei closed his eyes again; he was just too sleepy.

Even now, a lingering fear still haunts him. Yun Wei is terrified that everything he's experiencing now is just a beautiful dream he had when he was extremely weak, and that when he wakes up, Isaac will be gone forever.

As Yun Wei called out to him again and again, Isaac felt his heart breaking.

He pressed down on the other's shoulder, carefully examining his master who was resting with his eyes closed, and repeatedly comforted him, "You're not dreaming, Yun. I'm here, I'll always be here... I know, I know everything. You saved me with your blood, and I regained consciousness when you fed me your blood."

Isaac was not lying.

As his master clumsily transferred his blood, his soul awoke within the nearly decaying body. But the crimson power imprisoned his consciousness, and he could only anxiously watch Yun Wei's almost frenzied actions through the crimson curtain of blood.

Despite feeling heartbroken and desperate, I was powerless to do anything.

Suddenly recalling the scene of Yun Wei cutting his palm, Isaac felt a pang of grief.

He carefully cupped Yun Wei's face, gently kissing away the tears on the other's cheeks; the cool, bitter taste filled him with immense sorrow. He gazed at his master with almost greedy eyes, then kissed the small mole on the other's nose.

"Hmm..." Even with his eyes closed, Yun Wei could feel the servant's burning gaze. This position made him a little shy, and he couldn't help but let out a soft hum. But then he suddenly remembered something very important.

"So, when that crimson power reshaped your body, you were fully conscious?" Yun Wei tried to make his voice sound normal, but it involuntarily trembled.

That must hurt so much.

Because of the power of the contract, he only shared less than one-tenth of the other's pain, yet he was already as if he had been reduced to ashes. He could hardly imagine the torment Isaac had endured.

Thinking of this, Yun Wei's hand around Isaac's waist trembled slightly.

But Isaac brushed his nose against Isaac's and their foreheads touched, casually changing the subject—

"Yes, but I also heard you whispering sweet nothings to me."

“Yun, I heard it, it was six thousand seven hundred and forty-two.”
