Under normal circumstances, Yun Wei would never have been so easily led around by Isaac.
But he was too exhausted, and Isaac's awakening had stirred up his emotions. The other person's two simple sentences immediately drew his attention away.
However, whenever Yun Wei recalled her incoherent whispers from before, she blushed with embarrassment.
Good heavens, what did he say back then?!
How is this any different from dissecting your own heart with a scalpel and showing it to the other person?!
"So, can I take those words as your confession to me?" Isaac looked at Yun Wei, his eyes deep. He cupped Yun Wei's face in his hands, his thumb lovingly caressing the other's fair cheek.
Seeing the other person's originally pale face flush pink, Isaac couldn't help but lean down and gently place a series of delicate kisses on the other person's forehead, eyelids, lips, and chin.
His most cherished master seemed to be furious, still with his eyes closed, his tear-streaked eyelashes trembling shyly.
Upon seeing this, Isaac's Adam's apple bobbed involuntarily. As if possessed, he silently moved closer to Yun Wei, then stuck out his tongue and forcefully swept away the glistening teardrop.
A delicate dampness touched my eyelids; it was the other person's cool body temperature.
Yun Wei wasn't a naive teenager; even with his eyes closed, he knew what had just happened.
Isaac just...licked...his face?
Realizing this belatedly, Yun Wei was completely stunned. A sudden, electric shock-like tremor ran through his tailbone, and in an instant, the intense vibration spread throughout his entire body along his spine.
Even though I was extremely weak, a strange heat suddenly welled up inside me.
The emotions were so intense and overwhelming that he felt both ashamed and angry, and didn't know what to do.
"Hey! Isaac!" Yun Wei suddenly opened his eyes wide, glaring at the servant in front of him with a mixture of shame and indignation, and hurriedly scolded, "Don't mess around, I'm so sleepy, let me take a nap first."
Seeing that the other person was staring at him intently, Yun Wei looked away as if fleeing, muttering, "You're not a dog in disguise, what are you doing..."
Isaac released his large hands that were cupping Yun Wei's face, but instead leaned down and brought them close to his master, forcing Yun Wei to look him in the eye.
Only after he had achieved his goal and completely captured the other person's gaze did Isaac continue to ask, "Yun, you haven't answered my question yet. Can I take those words as your confession?"
Upon hearing this, Yun Wei countered with a question: "You care about that?"
"Of course." The handsome knight curled his lips into a perfect smile. "Because I just realized that I've been too careless all this time and have missed so much of your beauty."
He paused, then his eyes lit up, and continued, "Perhaps it sounds narcissistic, but I suddenly realize that you like me even more than I thought."
If the man you love most is right in front of you, gazing at you with resolute and affectionate eyes, and sincerely speaking passionate and straightforward words of love, even the most hard-hearted person would find it hard to resist.
But Yun Wei was not heartless; he was sensitive and fragile, with a tender heart, and at this moment he was almost being scalded by Isaac's tenderness.
He suppressed the increasingly joyful pounding in his chest, but stubbornly said, "Haha, it's only to that extent, how can it be considered a confession? Isaac, let me get some sleep first, and when I wake up I'll show you what real romance is."
Even Yun Wei himself was stunned when he said those words.
He felt he must have gone mad... In the excitement of his budding romance, what kind of boast did he make?
But in any case, at least he has managed to extricate himself from his current predicament.
Upon hearing this, Isaac indeed loosened his grip on him.
The two were no longer so close; the dangerous distance between them was so close that Yun Wei himself was afraid that he might do something wicked to Isaac in the heat of the moment.
Isaac straightened up, walked to the side, and skillfully pitched a simple tent, then thoughtfully laid out a soft straw mat and neat bedding inside.
Taking advantage of the break, Yun Wei sat quietly to the side and forced himself to replenish some dry food and fresh water.
He had a premonition that his sleep might not be a simple matter of just a few hours.
But no matter what, having Isaac around gave him a strange sense of peace. Glancing discreetly at the servants diligently working nearby, Yun Wei felt even his appetite improve.
Before long, the tent was packed up. Isaac strode over to Yun Wei's side, squatted down, and said with a smile, "Alright, Yun, go and rest. I'll wait for you patiently."
Those smoky gray eyes regained their clarity, as if everything that had just happened was nothing more than a little joke between two people who had "reunited after a long separation".
The farm is already in a remote location, and the crops in the fields have been harvested, so no one will come to disturb it for a while.
"Mm." Yun Wei nodded, washed and put away the cups, dishes and plates in his hands, and then prepared to go and get some rest.
He breathed a sigh of relief, thinking that Isaac was truly sensible and had let him off so easily. But beneath this easy relief lay a trace of disappointment that he himself was unaware of.
However, just as he rose and brushed past the knight, he heard Isaac whisper in his ear:
"Yun, actually, I can also be your little dog."
This was a response to his earlier exclamation in a fit of anger.
Yun Wei: "..." Good heavens, he must be dreaming.
To be honest, it seemed that the other side had hit the bullseye again, and Yun Wei felt that he was about to die.
If his heart could be likened to a vast open field, then Yun Wei's heart, which had just extinguished the wildfire of ignorance, was now filled with pink bubbles.
Yun Wei walked expressionlessly toward the tent under the oak tree. Only after he had passed Isaac did an uncontrollable, foolish smile appear on his indifferent face.
...
Yun Wei thought that after experiencing so much, once he fell asleep, he would inevitably be plagued by long-lost nightmares.
But enveloped in that comforting woody scent, he slept soundly without a care in the world.
So much so that when he woke up, staring at the gap in the burlap tent ceiling where a faint light was filtering through, he was still somewhat dazed. He had actually done it; they had successfully escaped the Red Moon together, and Isaac was still alive…
Although his physical strength had recovered after resting, he was still mentally exhausted. As for his plans for the future, Yun Wei decided to go to the Alchemy City to check on the situation first.
Even before he woke up, Isaac had already arrived at the tent flap. The still-handsome knight lifted the flap, revealing a bright and radiant autumn light behind his tall figure.
Yun Wei thought, the other party had lifted more than just the curtain... Oh dear, why is he getting all sentimental again?
So he asked, trying to cover up his embarrassment, "Isaac, how long have I been sleeping?"
“Three days and three nights,” Isaac replied, raising an eyebrow in a seemingly respectful manner.
Before the words were even finished, the agile servant flashed to his master's side and placed a gentle kiss on the other's forehead.
Good morning, Yun.
