Chapter 56 Arrival in Saipan

Bang--

The warship gently bumped into the sailboat.

It had slowed down as it approached.

Two soldiers jumped off the warship, causing the small sailboat to rock.

They glanced at the people on the sailboat, and finally their gazes all fell on Joey.

"Why are you looking at me? Catherine won't let me speak. Can't I just be a nobody?"

Joey cast a pleading look at Catherine, as if to say, "If you don't save me, I'm about to speak up."

“My name is Catherine, and I am the daughter of the lord of Grayfurnace City. Tigerstone Fortress has been captured by the orcs, and that’s how we escaped!”

Catherine's demeanor instantly changed, and she reverted to being that aloof and somewhat arrogant noblewoman.

The two soldiers exchanged a glance; one immediately returned to the warship, while the other continued to keep an eye on Joey.

"Please entrust your sword to me for safekeeping for now. I will return it to you if there are no problems!"

While waiting for the warship's response, the soldier spoke to Joey, but his tone suggested it was not a question, but an order.

Without hesitation, Joey unsheathed his sword and handed it over. The difference in strength between them was so great that he had no intention of resisting.

"Which one of you is Lady Catherine?"

Another person poked his head out from above the warship. He was clearly much older and was not wearing any armor.

He glanced at the people on the sailboat, and finally fixed his gaze on Catherine and Vivian.

"I am!"

Catherine looked up at the person, and an air of nobility emanated from her.

Joey was completely stunned.

This is what nobility is all about. It's not something that ordinary people can imitate. I, Joey Brown, would probably have to train for another ten years and still not be able to acquire this kind of temperament!

However, when it comes to connecting with the masses, Joey Brown still thinks he's definitely better than Catherine.

"Your Excellency Catherine, I am Koman, the resident maester of Saibanda. It is an honor to meet you!"

The scholar named Coleman was humble and seemed to acknowledge Catherine's identity.

A rope ladder was lowered from the warship, and Corman invited Catherine to board.

Catherine didn't hesitate, but as she climbed the rope ladder, she glanced back at Joey and Vivian.

Joey wanted to follow closely behind, but was stopped by the soldier.

"You'll stay on this sailboat!"

Another rope, as thick as a wrist, was thrown down from the warship. The soldier skillfully secured the rope to the mainmast and then stood in front of Joey, staring at him.

"Whatever, do you think your Uncle Qiao cares?"

"I'm not happy if you keep me here after Catherine finishes settling my accounts!"

Joey suppressed his displeasure, but this was yet another demonstration of the privileges of the nobility; the principle of "leaders go first" had come into play once again.

Joey and Vivian remained on the sailboat, following the warship towards the Saipan fortress.
