"Get him some water, he's just unconscious!"
Joey laid the last surviving soldier down in the forest near the fortress.
Upon hearing Joey's words, a soldier whose injuries were not serious approached, carrying a military water bag.
He unscrewed the cap and slowly poured the water into the soldier's mouth. Although most of it still flowed out, a small amount entered his mouth.
After giving the unconscious soldier some water, he slowly regained consciousness.
Where is this?
He opened his eyes and saw soldiers wearing the same armor as him, though their armor was tattered and worn. His emotions calmed down a bit.
"This is the forest near the fortress. Captain Joey of the Third Company of the Second Knights saved us!"
"That's him!"
The water delivery soldier pointed to Joey, who was talking to the bearded man.
"How's the fortress? Has it held?"
The soldier looked at Joey, nodded slightly, and showed gratitude in his eyes.
However, what he most wanted to know after waking up was the answer to this question.
"The fortress was destroyed, and the eighty-nine people here were rescued by Captain Joey and his companions!"
Are we the only ones left?
"I don't know either, I'm from the Third Knights!"
"I belong to the First Knights!"
"I am from the Fourth Knights!"
"..."
The soldiers who were still able to move heard the conversation between the two and automatically gave their unit numbers.
However, everyone's eyes were dim, completely devoid of any hope.
"Thank you all for your valiant fight. The Alliance will never forget the humiliation the Horde inflicted upon us today, nor will we forget the heroes who died in battle. We will definitely seek revenge!"
"At the last moment, several regimental commanders led their teams to break through the enemy lines. I didn't see their bodies in the ruins, so they should all have made it out alive. Your task now is to rest well, recover, find your own teams, and regroup!"
"We don't know if the tribe will come back. After we rest, we should leave as soon as possible. After all, this place is no longer a strong fortress, and it's no longer safe!"
Joey heard what the wounded behind him said and felt it was necessary to boost everyone's morale, even though his own morale wasn't high either.
However, someone has to do this kind of thing, and obviously Big Beard and Digger can't do it, so he'll have to do it.
Sigh, I'm destined to worry so much!
Next time I see Captain Zoro, I'll have to ask him for more money!
Hearing Joey's words, the wounded soldiers were encouraged and their mood improved considerably.
"For the Alliance!"
One of the wounded suddenly raised his arms and shouted, his voice booming like a bell, completely unlike someone who was injured.
Once one person shouted, the other wounded soldiers, disregarding their own injuries, also began to shout along.
"For the Alliance!"
"For the Alliance!"
Sometimes, faith is a really unfathomable thing.
Anyway, Joey doesn't have any faith in that area for the time being; believing in himself and his ancestors is what he was taught in his previous life.
As for this unbreakable alliance, Joey in his previous life had already witnessed a giant fall, so he couldn't empathize with it.
Joey doesn't quite agree with that statement yet. He just wants to live a peaceful life and let others have the honor of bloodshed and sacrifice!
"Uriel!"
Joey walked over to Uriel, who looked much better than when he was first found.
"Captain Joey!"
Seeing Joey walking towards him, Uriel tried to prop himself up on his elbows to make himself look more energetic.
"You get some rest. These people will take care of you. Big Beard and I are planning to go and scout out the orcs. We'll meet in Baron City if we have the chance!"
Joey patted Uriel on the shoulder, telling him not to get up.
He had wanted to follow Joey, but he didn't even have the strength to stand up. His elbows were already aching, so it seemed he couldn't keep up with Joey.
Watching Joey and the others leave, he silently vowed in his heart that he would become an excellent commander like Captain Joey in the future and slaughter all those stupid tribal pigs.
"Joey, which direction is the tribe in? How long will it take us to get there?"
As soon as they stepped out of the forest, the bearded man looked at Joey with a blank expression and asked.
"fool!"
Joey immediately rewarded the bearded man with a big tap on the head.
"You believed what I told Uriel?"
"The Horde came with great force this time, clearly having made preparations in advance. There are already spies within the Alliance, and I don't want to get involved in this mess!"
"There's a spy? Shouldn't we find that bastard?"
Upon hearing that there was a spy, the bearded man became agitated.
“It’s not my job to find out; the waters here are too deep!”
"Let's leave it to Captain Zoro, or that Fleet Admiral Garp we've never met before!"
"I'd better not get involved in my little Karami role. I want to live a few more years!"
Being a captain is certainly good, but Joey still values his life more. The crushing defeat in Saibanda made him realize that it's not so easy to get by in the Alliance army now, and it's easy to become someone else's cannon fodder.
"Where do we go then?"
The bearded man had no objection to Joey's plan, but he was unaware of Joey's next move.
Hehehe, Joey perked up when this was mentioned.
"Of course, it's to make some extra money!"
"Let's find a bigger town first, and stay in a brothel for a few days!"
