Chapter 390 Interstellar Escape (Fifteen)

"Ha, I was so angry I wanted to abandon him, but my father still brought him home." Juan was furious when he thought about it.

Juan felt a pang of nostalgia when he thought of his father. "My father was the only doctor in the village. He believed that it was not a doctor's duty to let someone die without helping them, which is why I brought him back."

"A doctor's heart is truly benevolent," Su Chen exclaimed.

Juan nodded. "After that, his injuries were almost completely healed, but he couldn't remember anything from the past. My father said he hit his head. I was wondering why he didn't become stupid from the head injury! After that, he brazenly accepted the identity of my distant cousin and stayed at my house. My father didn't kick him out."

Su Chen couldn't help but laugh at the thought of Bai Ze shamelessly staying at Hu An's house.

"It was after my father passed away that I couldn't take it anymore and made him move out. I'm a young, unmarried woman, and I still need to find a male mate!"

Su Chen nodded in agreement with her.

Before long, the two arrived at a tree. Su Chen looked up and saw that the first fruit Bai Ze had picked for her was from this kind of tree.

The fruit that Bai Ze could easily reach with a single leap when he transformed into a white lion took Su Chen more than half an hour to reach, during which she almost fell several times. Fortunately, Juan was watching over her from under the tree.

Su Chen looked at the five small fruits lying in the basket and felt an indescribable sense of accomplishment.

Later, she followed Juan to pick fruit. Juan even helped her pick a lot of sweet and sour fruits that looked like tomatoes. Su Chen was very happy and invited Juan to come to their house to eat the soup she made with the fruits.

Juan was also delighted. Su Chen was the best cook she had ever seen, and she was in for a treat today!

Su Chen knew what she was thinking. She recalled the soups she made; they were actually quite bland, and she herself found them rather ordinary. But everyone here seemed to enjoy them. Perhaps it was because they were used to eating raw meat and found cooked meat and other ways of preparing it novel. Once everyone knew how to make them, they would realize how terrible her cooking was.

When Bai Ze returned home, he saw two women laughing and joking around a large pot, talking about something. Su Chen's little face was full of smiles.

"What are you laughing at?" As soon as he finished speaking, Su Chen looked up and saw that he had stopped laughing.

Bai Ze was very frustrated, thinking to himself: Does she really not want to see me?

Su Chen didn't even look at his expression, and went straight to get a set of bowls and chopsticks and handed them to him.

Juan didn't want to sit at the same table as Bai Ze, so he made up an excuse and went home.

Su Chen sipped her soup slowly, and Bai Ze didn't urge her, just quietly watched her from the side.

Su Chen knew that no matter how much she dawdled, he would eventually drag her into having a baby, but she just wanted to delay as long as possible.

Bai Ze glanced at her and asked, "You...don't you like children?"

Su Chen choked on the soup and coughed incessantly.

Bai Ze sighed, stepped forward, patted her on the back, and handed her a cup of spring water.

Su Chen paused for a moment before saying, "It's not that I don't like it."

Seeing that Bai Ze's expression was alright, he added, "I am unable to give birth."

This time, Bai Ze frowned.

Su Chen wondered if they were going to kick him out to find someone new. Even if he wasn't from Lionheart Kingdom, he had lived in this environment for so many years, so he must value his offspring, right?

Even so, Su Chen had no intention of giving him up to someone else!

Just as she was about to say something, Bai Ze suddenly said, "Then let's not have children."

Su Chen looked up and saw his extremely serious expression. "I thought... you cared a lot... I thought you liked children."
