Chapter 18 Huo Yinghuai is back

The flames had already surrounded Wen Li, but she didn't have time to think. She immediately stood up and quickly glanced in the direction of Wen Xingming.

The entire lounge was about thirty square meters in size and was entirely constructed of wood. Now, a fire had suddenly broken out, and the surrounding temperature was rising rapidly. The electrical circuits inside were burning wildly.

Fortunately, she and Wen Xingming were not far apart, and Wen Li held her breath as she went out.

"Second Brother." Wen Li patted Wen Xingming's face with her hand.

Wen Xingming slowly woke up, took a deep breath, and then the choking smoke entered his mouth, causing him to cough until tears welled up in his eyes.

"Wh-what happened?" Wen Xingming felt his throat was hoarse and sore as soon as he opened his mouth.

Immediately afterward, a series of crackling sounds filled his ears, and Wen Xingming looked around in horror: "Holy crap!"

"Can you still walk?" Wen Li pulled Wen Xingming up from the lounge chair, her dark eyes scanning the surroundings, trying to find a way out.

However, the fire spread rapidly, and there was flames all around, making it impossible to find any way out.

Bang--

Wen Li heard a deafening sound coming from behind her.

Turning around, I saw a crossbeam suddenly fall down.

"Let's run! This room is going to collapse!"

Wen Li looked at the deathly aura emanating from Wen Xingming with worried eyes, and without saying a word, she carried the 1.85-meter-tall Wen Xingming onto her shoulder.

Wen Xingming felt dizzy and was completely dumbfounded when he saw the ground almost engulfed in flames.

Although he's quite thin, he's at least 1.85 meters tall because he works out regularly!

How can you just pick it up and carry it like that?

"Wait!" Wen Xingming suddenly said, "Have you seen my assistant?"

Wen Li paused, then shook her head: "I searched the room just now, but I didn't see anyone."

After Wen Li finished speaking, she couldn't help but cough twice, her throat was a little sore, and she lowered her voice: "Don't talk anymore."

However, the fires around them slowly approached.

Wen Li has keen and sensitive hearing; she can hear the sound of a water gun outside.

After a while, Wen Xingming heard it too and exclaimed with joy, "The rescue team is here! We're saved!"

"I'm afraid it's too late."

Wen Li put the person down, looked up at the several crossbeams that were already teetering on the verge of collapse, and spoke in an icy tone.

No sooner had the words left his mouth than a loud boom came from above.

Wen Li subconsciously threw all the talismans on her body upwards, and then pressed Wen Xingming down beneath her.

The next moment, the entire room collapsed and turned into ruins in the blink of an eye.

Looking at the still-burning flames outside, Fan Tong's face turned deathly pale: "It's over."

With the person gone, his show is over too.

Airport

On the fifth day, Huo Yinghuai successfully secured an overseas project. Thinking of his child at home, he immediately boarded a plane to City A.

The thirteen-hour flight did not tire Huo Yinghuai. As soon as the plane landed, he had his secretary drive him to Wen Li's film crew.

Huo Yinghuai was somewhat worried that Wen Li was too honest and would be bullied on set.

However, as soon as he got to the car, he saw his secretary walking towards him anxiously.

"Boss, Miss Wen Li is in trouble."

Huo Yinghuai's expression immediately changed.

Half an hour later, the black Maybach drove across the overpass and sped to the film set in the suburbs.

Huo Yinghuai hurriedly got out of the car and, sure enough, saw fire trucks and ambulances at the entrance of the film set.

Huo Yinghuai's heart skipped a beat, and he unconsciously quickened his pace, leaving his secretary behind him unable to keep up.

Huo Yinghuai asked around the whole way and finally arrived at the place where the accident had happened.

The fire had been extinguished, but the wooden building had been reduced to a pile of charcoal. Heat was still rising from the ruins, and rescuers were clearing away the charred wood by hand.

Huo Yinghuai bypassed the crowd and immediately spotted Zhou Xingyun and Fan Tong sitting on the wetland.

"Where's Wen Li?!"

Huo Yinghuai's voice was very abrupt. Zhou Xingyun, who was on the ground, looked at Huo Yinghuai with red eyes, and for a moment thought it was his imagination.

What is Huo Yinghuai doing here?

"Zhou Xingyun, what's the situation now? Has Wen Li escaped?"

The cause of the fire is still unclear, and he is only concerned about Wen Li's personal safety and does not want to pursue other responsibilities.

Even though he tried his best to calm himself down, his voice still trembled slightly.

"Wen, Wen Li is still inside." Zhou Xingyun belatedly pointed to the ruins beside him, and then all his emotions suddenly erupted at that moment.

When Zhou Xingyun received Fan Tong's call, he could hardly believe it.

When he arrived at the scene as quickly as possible, the entire room had become ruins.

Wen Li's assistant couldn't hold back any longer: "It's all my fault. If Xiao Fei and I hadn't gone out, perhaps none of this would have happened."

The two were asleep at the time. She and Wen Xingming's assistant were thinking of going out to buy them some breakfast, but when they returned, the house was on fire.

Upon hearing this, Huo Yinghuai felt a ringing in his ears and couldn't hear what the two were saying at all.

Just before boarding the plane, Wen Li was still texting him, saying that they could do a paternity test tomorrow and then go home.

Having traveled thousands of kilometers to reach this bustling metropolis, Wen Li, that little girl, simply wanted to go home.

She was just one day away from going home.

Huo Yinghuai's heart suddenly clenched, and the pain made it almost impossible for him to breathe.

But when he opened his eyes again, Huo Yinghuai's tone suddenly became very firm: "Wen Li hasn't found her family yet, she can't just die like this."

The little girl is so capable; she's saved him time and time again. She can definitely save herself too.

After saying that, Huo Yinghuai turned around and joined the rescue team in dealing with the debris.

As dawn broke and the sky turned a pale white, an excited voice rang out from the crowd—

"Found them! They're still alive!"
