Xie Ning is troubled.

Known as the campus's "untouchable high mountain flower," Xie Ning maintains a polite distance from everyone, including his roommates. But things take a turn when Xie Ning discovers he can hear the innermost thoughts of Pei Zhi, his aloof, sports-major, notoriously homophobic, yet devastatingly handsome roommate.
Their lives had little overlap—until one rainy day, Xie Ning enters the dorm soaking wet, and Pei Zhi, usually distant and cold, unexpectedly helps steady him as he slips.

What is happening?

A chaotic moment ensues, and when Xie Ning’s wrist is caught in Pei Zhi’s grip, the skin contact overwhelms Xie Ning, leaving him leaning weakly into Pei Zhi’s arms, face flushed red.
Eventually, Xie Ning’s secret is exposed. In response, Pei Zhi takes it upon himself to "help" Xie Ning with all the physical contact he needs—whether through casual hugs, close embraces, or even sharing a bed.
When Pei Zhi discovers Xie Ning’s ability to hear his thoughts, he takes things to the next level, pinning Xie Ning’s wrists above his head and asking huskily, “Can you hear what I’m thinking right now?”
Xie Ning remains silent, unable to speak.
